Whatever we do, I don't want to see us handing out 2-3 yr contracts... It should be to end of the season first, so if the worst happens we can reassess To be fair I don’t think we will be paying out anywhere near that amount of time. The 2-3 years will be retention contracts so we get a pay out if someone does a Mansfield on us and pouches our manager from the league below. There will inevitably be get out clauses in cause of terrible performance. I doubt we’re paying BG or PT much. In a way poor performance makes get out easier - might have been last nights result triggered a win ratio clause. Just in the same way if you go out and get a new job your new employer can get rid of you for free if it turns out you can’t do what you said you did in the interview.

Great Post 👍 bring Mr Bristol Rovers back where he belongs ......it’s way overdue. currently leading the pack on sky bet behind TW That’s looking backwards and Holloway lives in the past. Still, he knows plenty about league two so we’ll be well prepared for next season. we really can and ought to do better than this. He just talks a good game. Left Plymouth in unsavoury manner and now Grimsby. No thanks. He left Plymouth for Leicester, to better himself, not a crime, Grimsby, he maybe thought he could help them, but there in an awful financial state, with a team full of boys, not his signings. He cares about Rovers, which is far more than most managers will. Till the end of the season. He won’t do any worse than the last lot👍🏽

Whats Gerry Francis doing these days. We've had God knows how many managers over the years but not many inspire any confidence. I still remember the Twerton Park games with GF in charge, as the best years of following the Gas

Widderington won’t be the new manager , just in case you read any nonsense claiming he might be 😂🙄 On the official Rovers site it plainly states that Widdrington is in temporary charge with Maher assisting. Have a read Mr Yellow belly.

I wouldn't mind giving Sol Campbell the gig.

This must be one of the least attractive jobs in professional football. Two managers already sacked, a squad of players that are serial under performers and a club hurtling at break neck speed for relegation.
With that background I am sure that the applicant managers will be of the highest calibre. Not.

Is it too much to expect that the club already has somebody lined up or sounded out prior to sacking Tisdale?
Probably.

Personally I would prefer somebody from abroad; Portugal/ Spain or Yugoslavian? Short term contract! UTG Well, if we’re going to go for a Yugoslavian, the first thing we’ll need is a time machine. We don’t have much time left!!! But you know what I meant; Serb, Croat, etc.

Coleman would be a great appointment but absolutely no way he'd be interested.
Cook would be a great appointment but also wouldn't be interested.
Not a fan of Cowley personally.
Harris not a bad shout maybe. Same with Duff and Taylor.
Honestly no idea tbh. Not overly inspired by anyone tbh.

With that background I am sure that the applicant managers will be of the highest calibre. Not. Great point. We might be scraping at the bottom of the barrel this time around. I bet there's loads of managers that wouldn't go near us given our squad, results over the past 14 months, a closed transfer window and our penchant for firing managers. You'd have to be insane to give up a good job elsewhere to go near us. Only the desperately unemployed will be sniffing around.

Needs to be someone older and experienced who is a good man manager.
I'd be happy with any of the following :
Ian Holloway Paul Trollope Andy Tillson Gary Waddock.
I'd not be happy with the usual inexperienced 5 minute wonders like Nathan Jones, Paul Cook and Mickey Flynn.
Also NO WAY do we want Tommy Widdrington considering it's his fault we're in this mess at least partially

The next and only way forward is --------------------- why not the owner? He stands as much chance as anyone - and after all, it is down to him why we are in this position. C'mon Wael lead us to the promised land - please!
