I am totally and utterly appalled at the club for the dismissal of PW. In all my years of supporting Rovers, today is the first time I have ever felt completely ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with the GAS. To sack a manager after such a short amount of time, and given current circumstances is quite frankly disgraceful. It was not his fault he inherited a team of Garner’s no-hopers. It was not his fault the squad was struck down with COVID exactly as he had got us playing some of the most exciting football I’ve seen us play for years. It was not his fault the current schedule has taken its toll with injuries. It was not his fault he’s got strikers who are simply not good enough. A Ferguson, Klopp, Guardiola partnership would not be able to sort that lot in 12 weeks. The board and fans who called for this should hang their heads in shame. Zero integrity. Disgusting and shambolic. A very, very sad day. How do you know that Tisdale wasnt happy to set up the deal / indicate to the board he would be happy to walk away if the deal was right. It was blatantly obvious that things weren't working and he hardly looked up for fight. Oh that's right, you dont!

I hate seeing managers lose their job and actually would have stuck with Garner but this fella is an absolute fraud and possibly the biggest bullish***er I have ever come across. From the outside seems to be a shocking man manager, tacticfully woeful and completely full of himself. Bullshit baffles brains seems to be his tactic with the media and supporters. The best decision this board has made imo. Clueless !!

Saying that nothing wrong was his fault is obviously revisionist and obviously wrong. Bizarre substitutions in the 90th minute chasing the game. Bringing on 6 defenders chasing the game. Bizarre team selection and tactics. Above all that, as I've said elsewhere, I don't think I'd have much respect for the club if they hadn't said cheerio after he spoke about the club as he did on radio last night. I wouldn't expect to public slate my employer and keep my job why should he? And why are you not "disgusted and ashamed" by that?

Sorry, I mean no offence here as we are all entitled to our own opinions but I couldn't disagree more with this thread.
We were only heading one way with Tisdale and that was relegation. Now we have a chance to survive. Yes we have the same issues, lack of firepower and leaking goals. But maybe whoever comes in will be able to handle these issues better than Tisdale. I mean I doubt a manager would put 6 defenders on the pitch when losing to chase a game for example.
My optimism is back for now.

Sam Frost is clearly stating that PT was sacked not left by mutual agreement: "Bristol Rovers have relieved manager Paul Tisdale of his duties, the club confirmed on Wednesday. The 48-year-old replaced Ben Garner in November, but has been sacked after 19 games in charge"

Is Tony Pulis free? He's never been relegated but agree our club is in a mess with no goals for yonks, tents for stands and relegation looming.

Of all the managers we’ve sacked in the last 10 years , have any gone onto succeed anywhere else ? I can’t think of any of the top of my head

With Garner, whilst I didn’t agree, I could understand why. With this one I think Tisdale has been treated harshly and should have been given until the end of the season and then a change made - if at all See I'm old school and like managers to be given time to build something over time, like 2/3 years like back in the day. But in today's climate PT was given a small amount of time to turn things around, or prove that he could.I stated three/four games ago that he looked like a broken man and was going to take us down.Nothing after my comments showed me any of sign then this.We were doomed under him, the board had to act. As for BG, he is the worst manager we have ever had at this club. This is his squad, he built it and it will be his fault if we do go down.

Hello chaps
MK Dons fans here (I know that some of you didn't believe that was possible when I posted after Tisdale's appointment).
I've been keeping up to date with your scores over the last few months in case Tisdale actually turned out to be a decent manager. Sad to see that he has reverted to type and you guys feel the same as I did a couple of years ago.
Most of you have made the same comments did - weird subs, too negative, baffling press conferences, can't motivate the players, boring football and the list goes on.
Although it is never nice to see someone lose a job this could be a great turning point for you (and Paul isn't short of a few quid). A new manager in might get you playing some decent football, goals, enjoying your Saturday again and ultimately some results to stay up.
When Tisdale got the boot with us it took quite a few games for the new manager to fix the problems but we were in a worse mess than you are now. He only had 2-3 decent players and was cut adrift in the table. You've only got to keep ahead of 4 pretty poor teams which is doable.
Best of luck for the fight ahead and fingers crossed you stay up.

Sounds like the same excuses and reasons he was sacked from his previous clubs. Penny was sacked after a similar amount of games I think.

I’m not.
Fair play to the club. He was taking us down with absolutely no signs of it improving.
