I am totally and utterly appalled at the club for the dismissal of PW. In all my years of supporting Rovers, today is the first time I have ever felt completely ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with the GAS. To sack a manager after such a short amount of time, and given current circumstances is quite frankly disgraceful. It was not his fault he inherited a team of Garner’s no-hopers. It was not his fault the squad was struck down with COVID exactly as he had got us playing some of the most exciting football I’ve seen us play for years. It was not his fault the current schedule has taken its toll with injuries. It was not his fault he’s got strikers who are simply not good enough. A Ferguson, Klopp, Guardiola partnership would not be able to sort that lot in 12 weeks. The board and fans who called for this should hang their heads in shame. Zero integrity. Disgusting and shambolic. A very, very sad day.

Sounds like the same excuses and reasons he was sacked from his previous clubs.

Its been dismal since the new year.
Tbh- last night was the first game of the season I couldnt bare to watch.
The tactics previously had been beyond negative. Its a justifyable sacking even if all the points you raise are true.

Unfortunately the club simply has to roll the dice to have any chance of escaping relegation because they'd certainly be doomed under PT. They probably still will be under the new bloke in fairness, but at least there's a chance.

Would you rather the club rolled over and let it’s stomach be tickled accepting relegation in the name of being nice to its managers?
Bigger picture: what about all the staff and players who’d be affected if we get relegated?
Sometimes you have to be cruel to someone to be nice to the majority.

Do agree but still feels maybe a few games early to me. We were doing okay until the covid outbreak and I'm not sure many could do much better with this squad. That said, some of the team selections were very odd and the results overall have been very poor. I'd have maybe given him a few more games (unless we took another absolute hammering in-between) but equally I can understand the decision in some respects. Tough one

Sometimes you have to be cruel to someone to be nice to the majority. What about the fans as well? Given we've got use to not watching live football how many will want to return next season, assuming we can, to watch L2 football, although PT would have been sacked in the summer anyway if he hadn't taken us down. As far as the hand he'd been dealt, he knew that before he took on the job, plus why didn't he bring in a striker last month?

At Exeter he was given 18 months notice that they wouldn't renew his contract on the same terms but offered him a new one. He refused to sign as a matter of principle and left for MK Dons straight after the Wembley Play Off defeat to Coventry.

With Garner, whilst I didn’t agree, I could understand why. With this one I think Tisdale has been treated harshly and should have been given until the end of the season and then a change made - if at all

Compared to BGs chance after chance he can feel hard done by. I guess the difference is last year we werent in a relegation battle where as now we’re in the mix of it.
