They're good enough to stay up.
Overall though, it's a really imbalanced squad. The left back and striker situations are well-stated but I also think the midfield is an issue. I don't see a lot of differences between Grant, Upson, Liddle and Ogogo. They're all pretty limited players. McCormick is decent but very raw and lacks composure at times. None of the 5 I mentioned can run a game from the middle.
Westbrooke is clearly talented, but isn't for me. The definition of flattering to deceive. Maybe the next manager can get a tune out of him.

There are a handful of decent L1 players but that is all. The rest are not up to the required standard. This will be evidenced by the clubs the players eventually move on to after Rovers. Sadly, there is no leadership and the squad just doesn't look up for the fight.
ive always maintained that Ollie Clarke wasn't good enough for L1 but he is just the sort of player we now need for the battle.
its just as well these players haven't been playing in front of the fans. If they had been, the atmosphere at the Mem would have been horribly toxic.

Of course they are. They didn’t fluke the victories they’ve had. They have had a shambolic backdrop for the entire season, it’s no wonder they have been inconsistent. That said the squad is imbalanced and I’m certain we could make a much stronger squad without too much difficulty. Hopefully the incoming manager can galvanise them and we have a platform for next season.

Whatever they are we have no chance to change them now the window has closed so fingers crossed they are good enough. Good enough individually and probably technically but no ones managed to mould them into a team. Find someone who can do that and we could be ok. UTG!

I voted "No", not because I think the team aren't technically good enough, but because we are missing 2 key ingredients - a leader and a goal scorer.
However sometimes, when needed, people step up to the plate. Fingers crossed the new manager can find these ingredients within the group.

As a lot of you have mentioned I think the players are individually talented. The issue really comes down to an unbalanced squad both in terms of positions, styles and personalities. A lot of them are very similar to one another and as a unit they all falter in a bad run.
If we can get someone to motivate them and protect them mentally I think we have a shot. I don't think they'll respond to a disciplinarian unless they have some level of charisma and charm to balance it.
But it really depends on what choices the club makes next.

The players are definitely good enough to keep us up, but equally our squad was clearly good enough to keep us in the football league when we last got relegated. They need to perform at or near their best level and that’s where the manager is going to have to really earn their bread.

I have to say this:
If this squad can beat the drop and we keep them together, we could have a monster team on our hands.
They are mainly very young, and even Westbroke who’s older than many of them, has loads of time to peak.
If the shared experience of this year, plus a years actual football, this Baptism of fire....this may forge a seriously good team.
We can see they are decent footballers just naïve and raw. Nearly all the goals we concede a naïve mistakes, and we have missed so, so many chances other teams would have polished off like the last Jaffa cake on your 4th joint.
If we could half the mistakes and score half the chances we are making, we’d be top 6.
As said above, it’s not the football, it’s both boxes and that screams “inexperience”
I really hope they stay up and we keep them together, plus or minus a few.

I think they're good enough to keep us up. They need a manager who is able to communicate clearly as to what he wants from the team, and who is also allowed to manage.
Obviously going to be difficult without a prolific goal scorer, but I think they'll pull through.

Survival is definitely possible without a prolific striker, we just need goals from around the team.
In 2019/20 season under Coughlan this is JCH record:
20 league games 12 games 8 goals for JCH
Great record goals per game but only 8 goals for the team in 20 games.
Our other strikers were Nichols and Adabeyajo...
So not only did we not have a prolific goal scorer in terms of return for the team but we only had 3 strikers available.
In that period we won 10 drew 4 and lost 6

And why the next appointment is massive. Stay up, players like Hanlan, Nicholson, Daly, McCormick Alfie & Anssi retained and under a top manager this team can go places. Go down and they are sold or ask for moves and we may well struggle again. Big, big decision for the board. Surely they can’t cock up 3 times in one season?

Unsure about Westbrooke though.

Wholesale changes rarely bring good fortune. Did we not learn that in the summer ?
You need to keep a core of players . Some younger players may need loan spells. Some may not be upto league 1 standard. If relegated though they may be upto league 2 standard. Some out of contract players will leave of their own choice. Some players may be sold.
So its not as straight forward as in or out
All going well you would keep the players that have responded to your instructions and do the job you want of them.
If you were to say Rovers aim next season is to secure mid table security in league one. (Should they stay up) it means the team isnt strong enough in all departments to have many flair players. It needs hardworking players who do a job with maybe 1 or 2 luxury players in the matchday squad.
As all departments need improving i would consider.(go means leave or go on loan)
Jaakola Day Jvs Alexis andre Armstrong Ward.
3 have to go.
Williams Little Hare
1 has to go.
Ehmer Baldwin Harries Kilgour
2 have to go.
Leahy Koiki Tutonda Kelly
2 have to go.
Upson Grant Ogogo Mccormick Hargreaves Liddle
3 have to go.
Nicholson Westbrooke Rodman Oztumer Barratt
3 have to go.
Daly Hanlan Ayunga
1 has to go.
Thats gives potential for 15 new players.
