Am I the only one who feels totally uninspired by that list. I’m not criticising the op for putting it together - it looks like the right range of available up to ambitious targets. I just can’t see that list and gett excited about any of them taking over. Perhaps I’m just missing the football in person and feeling a bit ambivalent about it all.

What I will say is that while I voted for JB I know that this is only for us fans on the forum and does not represent the whole of the fan base. Forget those soft c0cks. If you want to stay up It’s got to be Joey B with Liam Gallagher as Assistant. Champagne SuperRovers

No, I’m the same mate as I put earlier..... hence my preference to do something in house with Hargreaves and Mansell until the end of the season and then reevaluate then.... more managers may be available or looking for change etc as their contracts have come to an end.... if if we do go on that list then I’m looking at Harris.... think he’s got more of the qualities that we need without any ‘baggage’ to consider etc

I think JB would be a refreshing change to the previous 2 failures. ✅

Not sure if that means he’s coming back to us. Is it ever good to return to a club 2nd time around?

Cowley would be my first choice. Plenty still to prove and young and hungry. Plays good football and although struggled in the championship maybe wasn’t given long enough (sound familiar?) Not sure about that. As bad a long ball merchant as GC.

Why is Widderington not on that list? I would’ve thought he would be in the running.

Looks like Barton is the clear favourite and is the obvious choice in my opinion. We haven't won in 10, losing 8, we need a manager that can make an immediate impact.
None of the other potential candidates have recent fairly successful managerial experience in League 1 and would therefore know oppositions strengths and weaknesses. He'd also have some knowledge of our players from previous meetings with Fleetwood.
Some would argue that the poll shows 58.97% don't want Barton but second in the poll is Cook and using that method 83.76% don't want him.

If it wasn’t for his previous misdemeanours I don’t think this would even need a poll. A manager who has had recent success in league one and as a player he played in the premier league, for the majority of his career, under some of the most well-respected managers in the game. For me, this appointment is all about keeping this football club in this division. Joey Barton would give us the best chance of doing that in my opinion.

I've gone for Adkins but I think the better choice right now would be Barton..
I would be happy with one of Cook, Barton or Adkins from that list.
Cook I don't think we have a chance.Adkins, probably waiting for a Championship job and would be a longer term appointment to build over 2/3 years not to stay up this season, and that would only if he is the same manager as a few years ago.
Barton, as people say abit of a dick...but he knows L1, has a point to prove and has the fire to awaken this squad if anyone can in order to stay up.Plus he is young and good enough to build a future around.
