Shrews fan here, just letting you know all the data you’ve mentioned is from when Sam ricketts was still in charge. Marc Pugh/Jason Cummings have left and Leon Clarke isn’t even in our registered squad... our tactics have also changed considerably from hoofball. Good luck for the rest of the season (with the exception of Saturday) hope you lot stay up! Thanks for that, now get back to your weetabix! 3 - 1 Gas 👍. For the Weetabix was for Rovers fans?

Strikers give away silly free kicks. Cest la vie. As Antonio said if the free kick goes out no one talks about it. Like no one talks about Harries having a pass across goal intercepted that ran out of play.... that error would lead to a goal 50% of the time. Jonah’s 2% (and don’t come at me for these stats, you get the point!) I was more annoyed with Jonah blazing over the blackthorn stand in the last 5 mins when he turned and volleyed over from 5 yards. But what I will say is that in his brief cameo he looked a goal threat and with the right fine tuning Jonah could be alright for us. So again, let’s get behind the lad and not on his back. The difference is Ayunga gave away a needless free kick in a dangerous area, I bet it doesn't do it again any time soon!

Strengths, weaknesses and style of play + StrengthsDefending set pieces Strong - WeaknessesAvoiding offside Weak Keeping possession of the ball Weak Protecting the lead Weak Defending against through ball attacks Very Weak Shrewsbury's Style of Play Long balls Rotate their first eleven Opinion
This is a even more massive game following the loss against Wigan. I was correct about Joey favouring a back 4 although he has also shown that he would switch to a back 3 when going for the win. We started the last match 4-3-3 and reverted to 3-4-3 as we looked to pin Wigan in their own half and seek that winning goal. All the stats looked like it was working but for our defensive frailties to once again rear their ugly head for set pieces / phases after the set piece to let us down. Joey spoke openly and honestly about that and with Clint Hill in the coaching set up I'm sure it will be forever drilled into the lads so hopefully can be eradicated from our game. We have now conceded 14 goals from these situations and what a difference it would make to our confidence/point accumulation and table position if we could have successfully addressed that earlier in the season. Team/formation wise I think he will set up similar to Tuesday with minimal changes. I think I heard him mention that Hanlan felt tight in the hamstring so might have a rest (bench) on Saturday which will give Jonah or James a chance. My preference would be Jonah as he is a specimen that has proven he can battle physically with the monster centre backs. I think Jack will return to full fitness and will replace Cian at the back. Predicted line up 4-3-3 again: * | * | * | Day | * | * | * | Williams | * | Kilgour | * | Baldwin | * | Leahy | * | Grant | * | * | * | Upson | * | * | * | * | McCormick | * | * | * | * | Rodman | * | * | * | Nicholson | * | * | * | * | Ayunga | * | * | * |

Good luck for the rest of the season (with the exception of Saturday) hope you lot stay up! Thanks for reading pal and taking the time to reply Regarding your statement about ALL the data being from when Ricketts was in charge... Last match you played 4-3-3 with Whalley and Chapman as wide forward men with Main in the middle so that part is fine. You are in great form... that is correct. I include stats for as little as 5 games played so your newest players (if they out performed the previous players) are included so that too should be fine. Maybe the strengths and weaknesses bit (which is assessed on last 2 seasons) is what you are referring too, and on that fair play if you are starting to gain from strengths and less weaknesses - we are trying to do the same as the assessment for us is equally as damning. Either way I hope it is a decent and entertaining match that gives us 3 points... cuz we really need them! UTG Good luck for the rest of the season (after this match) mate

In an effort to minimise the amount of information that the players have to absorb I believe Joey B referred to him today as “Colesy”.

Nicholson has been carrying an injury for a while. It might be better to not play him every game during this sat tues sat period.
I would rather a fresher livlier nicholson every saturday than a shadow of himself every game.
The same could be said for hanlan.
Maybe squad rotation needs to come into play (?)

I would rather a fresher livlier nicholson every saturday than a shadow of himself every game. The same could be said for hanlan. Maybe squad rotation needs to come into play (?) And/or play him wide right in his most suited position. I think that’s been the problem as much as fitness. He’s not a striker and he’s not a number 10 although he does do an ok job there. All his best work comes from when he’s running from right to left at defenders ( like Bodin ) Otzumer behind Hanlan with Nicholson wide right cutting in on his left foot is the way I’d go with probably Rodman wide left cutting in on his right. Or we could keep width on the left ( something we’ve also hardly had all season which has made us very narrow and predictable)and play Tutonda who has pace and skill something we lack in attacking areas badly all season. The difficult one for me is the central defenders - I’d pick Kilgour every game because he’s the best of a bad bunch this season, I don’t rate harries although he’s young and Baldwin and Ehmer are very accident prone and slow. Ayunga has bags of potential as does Daley but if 4231 is the way J.B. is going then I think Hanlan should be first choice from the start.
