An inform team meets s out of form team. Can we tame Steve Cotterill's side who have for the past month or so been managed from a bed in Southmead hospital covid ward.
Glad Steve is back literally from the the near dead and his team are benefitting from his tactical ability to grind out result after result
Joey B might have met his match mind you our players surprised us all with that fantastic victory over Pompey ..not looking forward to this one on Saturday.
Hope Clint Hill sort our defence out its our real weak spot.

What an excellent signing Harry Chapman was for them in January.

Good luck to Steve Cotterill whatever hospital he is in and here's hoping he makes a full recovery and can get back on the touchline ASAP.

Thought he'd been released from hospital some time ago anyway! Knowing our luck he'll return to the dug out on Saturday and the players will then want to put in a decent performance to celebrate his return.

He was in Southmead hospital initially in ICU and once off ventilator transferred to the BRI we should all praise the health service and not complain about making early matchday threads it is just not cricket to criticize new innocent posters like me.But I am old and ugly enough to take it and I know who you are. I have a particular set of skills acquired over a number of years skills which make me dangerous for people like you. I am able to trace those detractors ... I will trace you I will find you and I will ++++ you!

Strengths, weaknesses and style of play + StrengthsDefending set pieces Strong - WeaknessesAvoiding offside Weak Keeping possession of the ball Weak Protecting the lead Weak Defending against through ball attacks Very Weak Shrewsbury's Style of Play Long balls Rotate their first eleven Opinion
This is a even more massive game following the loss against Wigan. I was correct about Joey favouring a back 4 although he has also shown that he would switch to a back 3 when going for the win. We started the last match 4-3-3 and reverted to 3-4-3 as we looked to pin Wigan in their own half and seek that winning goal. All the stats looked like it was working but for our defensive frailties to once again rear their ugly head for set pieces / phases after the set piece to let us down. Joey spoke openly and honestly about that and with Clint Hill in the coaching set up I'm sure it will be forever drilled into the lads so hopefully can be eradicated from our game. We have now conceded 14 goals from these situations and what a difference it would make to our confidence/point accumulation and table position if we could have successfully addressed that earlier in the season. Team/formation wise I think he will set up similar to Tuesday with minimal changes. I think I heard him mention that Hanlan felt tight in the hamstring so might have a rest (bench) on Saturday which will give Jonah or James a chance. My preference would be Jonah as he is a specimen that has proven he can battle physically with the monster centre backs. I think Jack will return to full fitness and will replace Cian at the back. Predicted line up 4-3-3 again: * | * | * | Day | * | * | * | Williams | * | Kilgour | * | Baldwin | * | Leahy | * | Grant | * | * | * | Upson | * | * | * | * | McCormick | * | * | * | * | Rodman | * | * | * | Nicholson | * | * | * | * | Ayunga | * | * | * |
What do you think? What would you do?

Actually think we started well v Wigan and if that early Hanlan header had gone in well.................., any way as game went on threat became less and less. think we have to have more up front and as Sam is struggling i may try Hanlan there as he is always more threatening when running at defenders, or even Tutonda who is better going forward than defending. As for Shrews, remarkable turnaround and i for one could not understand the negativity towards Steve Cotterill coming here , interesting that board were prepared to take a chance on a divisive character like JB, but not SC. the reaction had he come here and then again after he had achieved a similar set a results to the Shrews lately would have been 'interesting' to say the least ! Other than that i will put the shirt on, play good night irene and singing the blues, pray and hope for a Pompey like performance and result!
