Isn't it great to finally see the young lad have a bit of joy on the pitch today! I hope that the moment of celebration with the team gives him something to build on and gain confidence when called on despite the unusual circumstances.
It can't be easy the way it's gone for him at his first club abroad, especially with the current Covid climate but he is young and still learning with potential for a decent career in football.

I just came here to make that point. The guy had but seconds on the pitch but totally saved the entire teams asses.
To come in, from the bench, and make a brilliant instinctive save. He’s No3 now but I think he’s proven every time since the darker days at the start of the season that he’s a good goalkeeper.
So much of yesterday was positive. Even JVS got in on it and made a difference.

Don’t think our Jordi is as bad as some would have you believe.
He’s a solid reserve to me and I think unlucky he has lost out to Day, as greatful as I am to day for his last ditch efforts yesterday.
I know he’s not Manuel Neuer but he’s our back up to a very talented Ansii Jakkola.

Not sure if others heard Barton's post match interview but he confirmed that JVS had recently lost his father to COVID, which must be particularly hard to take for anyone stuck in another country when it occurs.

JVS is unconventional, he has however had a few decent games. What pleased me the most yesterday was not JVS reaction to the header from the cross but the reaction of his team mates to the save. Fantastic to see, I thought that spirit had died. I was wrong. Fk sake, pass me a tissue.

Gave me a giggle at the time as he'd only been on the pitch for that one save.
However it is good to see and when I heard Barton's interview about JVS's father after the game it gave more context.

Just goes to show we often don’t know what these players are going through. Notice the bit where Barton mentioned it was cut from the version posted online which was strange.

I didn't realise that, that's so sad. Makes me feel even more proud of his contribution, and of the team rallying around him at the end.

Very sad news about JvS' father. Thoughts and condolences to Jordi and his family.

He's got a decent hairstyle too.
I would prefer him to Day.

I actually think he could become the clubs next cult hero. When Annsi retires of course.

As important as anyone in getting us those 3 points yesterday thanks to that save in the last few seconds - looked in all the way to me from up in the East Stand!
Horrible situation for him to come into but did exactly what he needed to when called upon.
Really sorry to hear about his personal situation too. Must be a really difficult time for the lad & makes what he did yesterday all the more impressive.

Personally I think there's a decent keeper in JVS and in keeper terms hes still young. Brilliant to see the reaction of the other players he's obviously a very popular member of the squad. Massive credit to him that he was so switched on even in the 97th minute. With the new young lad (Ward ?) signing a pro deal I make that 6 keepers we have now, imo a couple will have to go in the summer but would like to see JVS retained and loaned out for a season, he needs to play regularly

He's actually played a fair amount of games for a number 2 keeper with Jaakkola's injury record and the Pizza Trophy etc. I believe he's actually the 2nd Dutch keeper to play for Rovers. Can anyone name the other one without googling it!?
