The Gas vs. Swindon... so close between the performances of the last 8 games We just edge chances created and limiting the opponent but they edge goals per game Could be tighter than I first thought

I'll do the post match dashboard later as I have more energy to do work today instead of Gas things... sad sad day

Thanks again for the update and all the work you put into this I take from this that JB has managed 9 games and needs to get maximum points from the next two games or his record will be worse than BG this season (BG having managed 11) It will be tough to get any points from Sunderland and Ipswich

I wonder if it's easier to get marginally more points out of a poor side that you've put together than to get points out of a poor side that someone else has put together?

Sunderland, Ipswich and Doncaster....? Hell alive! I wonder if that might suit us a bit... would those teams come at us and open up a bit. We struggled against Swindon, Wimbledon and Wigan who all just got behind the ball and waited for us to run out of puff. Anyone else for straw clutching? Lol

Doesn't half nark you off to think about that what 'should' have been: Table below calculates from xG what the impact would have been if we had been hitting it bang on. From the results below Rovers should have 5 of their losses as draws and have 5 more points. Goals for should be 11 ish more and goals against should be 5 ish less. We have been so close... fine margins. Please can the tide turn now. Dust ourselves down and go again... Attachment DeletedUTG

We’re so bad we defy statistics.

It so bad because the people that don't care much for stats have me over a barrel - "Stats don't mean sh!t mate - Joey has the worst points total from the matches than all of them"
I know that but we are better really, honest.

Interesting in Shrewsbury have definitely had an upturn in form since Cotterill arrival, maybe he's one of those "lucky" managers at this level (not with his current health though)?
The table suggests we should have been above Shrewsbury, and are actually much better than our current position.
If we can play to our potential, there's a chance to stay up, but looking at calibre of opponents and current form, we're down...

Just wanted to add this one... I was trying to think of why PT was sacked and one of the factors I came up with was that he favoured long ball, I swear that he was just lumping it to Brandon and bemoaning we didn't have the hold up players. Turns out I was wrong... below is the average passes per game per manager and the amount of long balls per game is highlighted May be of interest... although it's not my best lol UTG

Garner did play the long ball a lot, these were runs by the strikers and the ball was intended to be played beyond the defender for Hanlan to run on to. Tisdale played the early ball into the strikers, bypassing midfield a lot. The strikers were generally facing their own goal. Not so for Garner. Just want to point out that long ball has its own nuances.
