Many neutral/opposition commentators have commented on how well many of the rovers players cross the ball. Westbrooke Hare Williams Rodman Leahy McCormick. With so many good crossers of the ball you wonder the issue. Its simple. There is nobody who can attack the ball in the air. Rodman is possibly the best or kilgour maybe. Ayunga for all his good ground work is hopeless in the air (except in defence it seems). So who can Rovers put in the box to get on the end of all these good crosses ? Find that person at the club and Rovers stay up. When did we last score with a header? How many headers have we scored this season?

Do we really set up to defend?? Like you said, we had over 20 shots. We also had a few chances, before Plymouths early goal. The wing backs get forward a lot, we push 3 upfront to press. Even Upson was getting in the box and missed a free header yesterday. McCormick has missed quite a few chances lately. It looked like Kilgore was playing right back a lot of the time at the start yesterday as Williams was pushed up that much. I f you look at the two goals Williams was doing his best to be a statue on the corner of the box and pointing at Kilgour to do all the work. I think the commentators said that Ehmer and Kilgour swapped around early on as they could obviously see the danger down that side, Kilgour has his critics but yesterday he seemed to have far more sense of what was going on around them and far more than his experienced colleagues. Thought Williams was doing a good job of stopping the player with the ball from crossing it or cutting inside, it was then down to Kilgour to stop his man from doing the same but on both occasions he failed, having said that one the cross came in Ehmer stood watching, hence why I assume he was subbed off at half time. As far as our defence looking better when Kilgour departed once that simply a case of the oppostion sitting on their 2-0 lead, although didn't the goalscorer hit the bar late on anyway. One issue nobody has mentioned is JVS' flap at the cross for the 1st goal, if he'd caught the cross or got a decent contact with the ball then the ball would have never reached the box. JVS costs us at least one goal a game, perhaps that's what Barton really meant when he said Jaakola saves us a goal a game!

I like Tutonda and would play him but not as a central defender ! his natural instinct is to go forward and he gets caught out as a defender by doing so, if he plays it must be in a role that utilises his attacking instincts IMHO.

Sorry Topper but if you are playing wing-back then you should be out on the wing not on the edge of the penalty pointing to your team mates to cover ther winger. None of our defenders are that quck as Kilgour was obviously telling him afterwards.

None of our defenders are that quck as Kilgour was obviously telling him afterwards. So you think Williams just leaves the player with the ball to then go off and mark the winger, who was probably the opposition's full back/wing back anyway? Regardless our whole defence is shocking, fans saying we needed a defence coach to solve our problems in defence before Barton arrived, clearly didn't appreciate just how poor are defenders actually are, it really beggars belief we let Davies join Barrow. I wonder who made that was it Tisdale's or Widdrington.

DT as LWB with Leahy as LCB, so he can cover when DT gets caught up field, the alternative is Leahy at LB and DT LW with both having a license to attack. Not sure how we also fit in Hare on the right, FB or WB? Jaakola Hare Kilgour Baldwin Leahy Tutonda Upson Westbrooke Oztumer or McCormick Ayunga Daly McCormick does seem half the player he was before his sending off and also being linked with a move to Millwall.

I have a bit of sympathy with the decision over Davies whoever made it. At the time I believe the squad size limit was still in place so keeping Davies without him having played a reserve game would have been a massive gamble. In hindsight he looks as though he's playing well for Barrow and a fit Davies would walk into this side but I can completely understand why the decision was made.

I think there were plenty of other candidates who could have made way! Koiki, Liddle, Hargreaves to name but 3 Davies would stroll into this defence

What is everyone smoking this morning. Hanlan in a three man midfield? Tutonda as Centre Back? Tutonda as a number ten! I’ll go for Anssi up front alongside Ayunga. Tutonda did actually play RCB when he came on mind lol

I think the issue was they weren't convinced of his fitness and didnt want to risk a squad place on a player that wasnt guaranteed to be available

What a strange signing Koiki was.
