Mark Warburton’s side were last week linked with Rovers’ 22-year-old defender Alfie Kilgour who was named in the starting line up, but a report from Sunderland Echo suggests that the Rs were watching over midfielder Pablo Martinez.
The 20-year-old Welshman made his League One debut for the club after a spell on the sidelines. He joined on a short-term deal after leaving West Brom last summer, and Sunderland Echo say QPR scouts ‘may well’ have been watching over his performance.
Kilgour and Martinez could both be on the Rs’ radar, and they could be two of the names that come through the door this summer.

Surely virtually all Championship clubs are scouting every club in the 4 leagues below to pick up a possible bargain, particularly given the crazy sums of money in that league.
The madness filtering down from the Prem is slowly but steadily making football in the lower leagues impossible to become successful at, without huge investment that potential jeopardises the clubs future. Happy days.

Would be gobsmacked if Alfie gets a championship move based on his form the last 12 months

Thought Alfie had a good game on Saturday and kept Charlie Wyke quiet.
Appreciate he has had a mixed season but has helped stop both Wyke and JCH scoring against us in 4 games.
There is undoubtedly a good player there.

It’s an international week, of course the Championship scouts were scouting the lower leagues. I suspect Rovers get scouts from one club or another most weeks, so it’s a bit of a non story really.

That is EXACTLY what was said about Thomas Lockyer who has played (say) 55/65 of the games he could - so far- at that level. The game and the players that fans see is a long way from the professional perspective.

There is a half decent player in there somewhere with AK. Physically right for defensive duties, his touch, Heading and Football brain not sure. I've watched him against Hallen, City and all those teams in his younger days.
No better or no worse than the other CB that were at the club at the time. Once you get on the Merry-Go-Round it will always be the case that you will get linked to another club.
I hope the club can make some money, and re-invest in next seasons squad. But I hope that it doesn't end up like Harrison or Bodin for the kid. I guess everyone finds their level.
(Current team excepted, I have no idea what level they are at!!!!)

Many supporters said Tom would never make it at a higher level and Ellis was only good enough for Bath City!

I'd be more worried if we actually lost Sam Nicholson

Many Championship clubs are struggling with huge wage bills and a huge drop in match-day revenue. Expect a lot of Championship players to be released and made available during the summer as clubs look to cut costs.

Perhaps QPR are setting up a Sunday League side - can’t see any other reason they’d be scouting any of our players.

Perhaps QPR are setting up a Sunday League side - can’t see any other reason they’d be scouting any of our players. My boss is a hoops fan. They recently had a transfer embargo and are not splashing any cash. They are looking at promising young talent that they can snap up in the cheap, and let’s face it, we are a lovely push over when it comes to selling our assets For me Alfie is a good player, with the right players alongside him and with decent coaching he may well be good enough to play in the championship He’s certainly too good for league 2 And there aren’t many of those on our books.

There is undoubtedly a good player there. The only centre back I’d keep if it wasn’t down to other players still in contract and it not being as easy as that. Alfie alongside an experienced decent leader of a centre back could become championship standard in the next couple of years.

Absolutely I don't recall many people complaining when he was offered a new long term contract. He's still young, more than capable of becoming championship player

How many of them are now sh** scared of putting a foot wrong for fear of being the next scapegoat plastered all over social media by JB?

There is undoubtedly a good player there. Always does well in a physical battle with the Wyke types, but lack of pace is often shown up against the more mobile strikers.
