Really think if we could get an unlikely win at Ipswich, it would lift the mood and confidence to keep us up going into the remaining games.
Everyone else is picking up points if we are going to survive need something to happen imminently.

Everyone else is picking up points if we are going to survive need something to happen imminently. This weekend is make or break. Ipswich and Donny aren't easy, but their form gives me hope. Ipswich have taken 5 points from the last 5 games. Donny have taken 2. (Yes, I know we have taken 1...). My blind optimism says we'll pick up 4 points and, like you say, the mood will be lifted and things will look brighter going into Northampton the following week.

A friend of mine is an Ipswich fan and is not confident at all. I did say they would have to score two own goals for us though.

The make or break is likely to come when the teams around us play their games in hand.
Most are playing each other so points are guaranteed.
Until then we need to get above them.

There is something to be optimistic about for sure against this current ITFC gaschat.co.uk/post/729699Only thing is... when ever there is hope (like the best player is injured or the team are on a losing streak... we have a way of changing the cycle for them) Lets hope the added time on the training ground and the recent 'better' parts of performances can all come good and the tide turns for what could be the comeback of a lifetime UTG

A few days with the strikers working on movement and finishing, the defence on....defending and work on a solid formation/ game plan for the game(s) ahead. We should also look a bit fresher with the extra rest.

I'm not optimistic at all, but one tiny bit of hope is that after a rare mid-week off, Barton and the coaching staff may have been able to do a bit more work with the players in both boxes, which is what we desperately need.

We have played a number of teams on horrific runs and helped them end them.... In some cases we have made them look like table toppers.
We have no back bone or courage or resolve.
HOWEVER ... Anssi being back will steady things at the back hopefully and JB has now a week to prep them. Its a crazy time of the season when the bottom teams can turnover anyone on their day. Maybe this is our time.
My heart says we will win both, look very decent and go on a little run that might just make our season go on a bit longer. My head tells me we will be the slaughtered lambs and get nowt from either game.

I am optimistic, but in reality you have to look at our players injured and think, why am I optimistic? - Then the heart says... shut up stupid head

A result there would certainly lift the gloom a little or four points from Ipswich and Donny who are both in terrible form. I have a little more hope with Ansi back despite Saturday's loss. I am still think it's likely we will be relegated, but I hope we at least put up a fight.

My worry is, we get the win and a draw, but yet again, fail to build and lose to another rival. Game over.

We haven’t won in our last 11 away games, losing 9 and drawing 2. We’ve also failed to score in the last 330 minutes of football.
Would love to be optimistic guys but with Nicholson out, Hanlan misfiring and us having to rely on our left back as our main source of goals, I just can’t see it changing.

The voice of reason... it was in me too really. Potentially no Alfie now so thats 3 CB's out and Baldwin has been nursing an injury too I think No Sammy Nichs No goals for Brandon and Jonah in ages Daly getting limited minutes Still not sure what our formation is or should be - although I could see us sticking with back 4 now using Grant as a sort of fluid CB/DM - so that may be a bit confusing But apart from all that! We do have Jaakkola back now so... you never know...

Our favoured strike partnership at the moment Ayunga and Hanlan have scored 3 goals between them since the start of January, James Daly hasn’t scored since November albeit with less minutes. Looking at our midfielders Westbrooke, McCormick and Grant, you wouldn’t say that there are a lot of goals there either, losing Nicholson and Rodman was a massive blow. That’s our biggest problem, we probably could have coped with our defence as dodgy as its been at times if we had strikers that could score semi regularly.

Stats wise it's got 0-0 written over it... gaschat.co.uk/post/729748Didn't realise that lack of goals is a problem for Ipswich aswell

Both clubs will be targeting us as a chance to get their own form back on track - and lets face it we usually oblige
