In the past when we have had a clear out it has been a disaster, Graydon did it and sent us to the bottom of league2,Buckle did the same and ultimately it was his clear out that sent us out of the league, Next one to do it was, Garner another disaster, fortunately there are enough players left from before his reign to at least give us the chance to make a fight of it. But as with other clear outs allot of very poor signings were made by him, including Barrett,Ehmer, Tutonda, liddle and although Ayunga works hard his Return Of two goals isn't good enough. If Garner had made the good signings some say he made we wouldn't be where we are. We need to keep the core of the team together but get rid of the poorest of Garners signings and older fringe players ie Little, but keep Rodman. Another clear out could be a disaster. There is enough quality players with a few additions in the team for us to mount a promotion challenge if we go down.

Those who are saying don’t have a big clearout would anybody want to keep the following who are out of contract JVS Upson Ogogo Bennett Davies Little Hare Kelly I think not I wouldn't say getting rid of those players is a big clear out, saying that I would not let Hare or Davies go, Hare is one of our best crosser's of the ball and I am sure if Davies was in the centre of the defense our defending would be far better than it is, those two players did very well under GC. But as you say JVS, Little and Kelly can go.

Regarding who goes or stays if and when relegation is confirmed do they have wages cuts in there contracts if we drop a division I just didn't see relegation was an option at the beginning of the season. I thought we had done really well with our recruitment. Got in some young exciting players. We 'stole' Gillinghams tough tacking centre back captain. We got Zaine Westbrooke who was part of the Coventry promotion side the previous season. We even signed a stroker from one of our rivals. It was playoffs all the way for me. I can't help thinking that I wasn't on my own. So I doubt that the people at the club thought about relegation either. I wasn’t confident at all. We replaced JCH with a non league forward and a winger and all our best players left. We also let a coach with no managerial experience who had taken us from third to fourteenth in half a season stay and recruit for the coming season. It had a tough season written all over it.

Perhaps; but I think that is more testament to the quality of the likes of Graydon, Buckle and Garner than it is to the concept of squad clearouts. For example, we had a squad clearout when we got relegated to the Conference under DC, and that helped us reach back-to-back promotions. I think JB can spot a good player and demonstrated that at Fleetwood. I would trust him to rebuild the squad.

😄 At Christmas he had 8 goals and had been probably our player of the season up to that point but he’s been dire since and basically got paid for falling over since the turn of the year. Walker or Daley over him all day long and if we persist with Hanlan these last few games we deserve relegation. I’d actually go with Daley and Walker next game , the other two have been useless for weeks and Barton has to try something different.

I notice we had a trialist in goal the other week. Pirate recognized the fella, can't remember his name now, so not great input from me here. Previously at Fleetwood, Barton had offered to pay the wages to keep loan GK Jayson Leutwiler at the club. Maybe he would be an option? There is also Joe Lumley out of contract in the summer apparently - all problematic mind, if we go down

With Jaakola on the books I can't see us also bringing in a Lumley type, even if we stayed at this level. They would want to be an outright no.1.

For me, I have big concerns about JB being in charge of the big reset in L2. He has no experience of L2 as a player or manager, his current performance is worse than BG and in order to bounce back up we’d need unity which is something I have reservations about being able to achieve.

A few I wouldn't mind us taking a closer look at. Rhys Forster (Met Police), Theo Richardson (Cleethorpes Town), Ben Hughes (Chippenham Town), Lewis Adams (Slimbridge) and Chris Renshaw (Witton Albion).

Don't know if Armstrong is rated by the coaches or not but recently Jed Ward got a seat on the bench ahead of him and Ward is 3 or 4 years younger. By guess is only Anssi and Ward will stay and a new no.2 keeper recruited who is good enough to cover for Anssi if needed. Think a trialist keeper played in the Devel. Squad recently.
