We’ve had so many negative threads lately (understandably) but thought I’d try and lighten the mood with a thread about a player that looks like he bleeds blue and white - despite not actually being employed by the club!!! The passion and determination that he has shown this season is far superior to anyone else in the squad and if we had 11 players like Macca, we 100% wouldn’t find ourselves in this situation!! Thank you Luke, I’m sure you’ll go on to have a massively successful career and we will all miss you at the Gas when you’re showing this determination for another club next season!!

Best player this season by a mile.
Thank you so much for giving us 110% Macca. Wish circumstances were different and we could welcome you to the memorial stadium as I guarantee that you would get a standing ovation pal! Maybe you can visit next season so we can sing your name and show our gratitude for your efforts.
I, for one, will follow your career and wish you all the best in the next 3 games for us (first name on the sheet for me) and beyond in the championship (no doubts)

Luke will go on to have a good career and will certainly keep an eye out for him..he has been brilliant in what has been a painful season. Great to see a young lad on loan come here with a point to prove. Will no doubt be playing in the championship next season. All the best to him.

If our paths cross again, he’ll get a standing ovation from me.

Well said about Macca pity the rest of the players did not show the same commitment

It's a shame that he never got to experience the way Gasheads appreciate a player who gives 100% to the cause. A very good player, who will no doubt go on to much better things.

I think Luke Leahy has also contributed lots. A Lb/WB getting 10 odd goals in a relegation season is decent.

The lad has been pretty much the only bright spark in a very, very dark season for this club. He's the sort of player I (and many others I'm sure) love to see in the quarters. Exciting, gives his all, down to earth - everything you'd want from a player. I'm gutted we as fans never got to truly convey that appreciation to him - and I'm gutted for him he never got to experience it; I'm sure as a young player he'd have loved hearing a packed out Blackthorn End cheering him on and perhaps singing his name. He has an incredibly bright future ahead of him, and I wish him all the best - I'm just absolutely gutted we won't be seeing him next season.

Luke is a whole-hearted footballer, the likes of which we love to see at the Mem.
What sets him apart from the Stuart Sinclairs, Ellis Harrisons and Ollie Clarkes of this world though is that he also possesses the quality with the ball to go further in the game and has youth on his side. I will watch his progress with interest next year.

Really good player with an outstanding attitude. He represents so many qualities that other squad members can only dream about. He will be playing Championship football next season whilst we will be saddled with a few donkeys for contractual reasons.

Could have had Macca on a perm in January, Tisdale turned the opportunity down.

Could have had Macca on a perm in January, Tisdale turned the opportunity down. That's shocking if true.

Could have had Macca on a perm in January, Tisdale turned the opportunity down. That's shocking if true. I remember him saying something like, "some things sound great in the here and now but we have to think about the longer term".... I always thought it was Stockleys contract... If it was relating to Macca...well i'm gonna, i'm gonna, well lets face it i'm gonna do nothing about it but Grrrr. We seemed to have given Josh Wight our full attention now though, lets hope he can deliver

Could have had Macca on a perm in January, Tisdale turned the opportunity down. So in the past 24 hours, you’ve informed us of transfers, sackings, new stadiums, wages etc. We’re meant to believe that someone just spontaneously told you all this and said “yeah go put it on the forum”.
