In a way next season is a relatively simple job for jb and I think he knows this. He easily has the best gk in the division, also Sam Nicholson arguably the best technical player in l2 next season. That’s almost the hard yards done just need to compliment this and you could be runaway league winners. With those two fit all season I would fancy us staying up this season. That's assuming they are both going to stay and if they do, then remain fit for most of the season.

Getting relegated to L2 is never simple, as we've shown on other occasions. Those silky skills that you can demonstrate against wannabe Championship sides in L1 don't count for much when you're getting lumps kicked out of you on a wet February in Crawley.

Some of the better performers over the past few seasons in League Two? Danny Mayor, Sammie Szmodics, George Cooper, Randell Williams, Charlie Kirk, Abo Eisa and Dylan Bahamboula. Silky.

Easy to say when you aren’t paying, but if I was Wael, next year is the year to pay a large budget. We have JB and a chance to rebound. That will give some momentum.
Other than the long term wage grifters we’ve had on the books and the 3 managers, the players last year would have mainly been on peanuts. How much do you think Daly was on? Ayunga?
Only westbroke, ehmer, Williams on reasonable. I doubt even ZW was on top dollar. The idea I think from TW was that kids can do it and you can pay them peanuts and sell them on. Which turned out to be nonsense.
With budget, JB will give us an edge in the transfer market. Regardless of if people don’t like him, players will want to play for a famous ex premier player and be in the spotlight. He will just need the cash
I have to say I am not looking forward to it, I hate league 2 with a passion.

I remember the last two times we got relegated to L2, and I foolishly thought we would be promotion contenders without question. 2001/02 - We were entering the season with the likes of Ellington, Astafjevs, Foster, Thomson. We added Hodges on the wing. I thought we'd P?!s it. 2011/12 - Wholesale changes, but we added Anyinsah, Gill, Virgo, Zebroski, McGleish, Harrold. They may sound like jokes now, but at the time these players were exciting prospects for our assault on L2, at least on paper. It will be very very tough, and I certainly won't be high on expectation for us to getting promoted. I hope we can at least stop the rot though. Edit: Forgot Muzzy in 2012. We had a ridiculously strong squad that season, how did we fail so miserably?!

We failed as we had Buckle in charge and he couldn't cope with the move from Torquay to Rovers, he probably faced something similar to what Barton faced when he arrived and then found himself totally out of his depth.
