How do you think this current squad would get on in league 2? I think we'd easily be in and around the playoffs, what we have assembled at the moment is a lot better technically than last years, and and in terms of strength and depth the best we've had in many many years.

Hopefully we'll find out next season. I think we'd do alright , mid table pushing for play offs.

Radidly moving from mediocrity to genuine quality.To-night's bench will confirm this.

The bottom teams in league two are worse than the top 8 or so in the Conference.
Mid table would be no problem. It wouldn't take much added to go up again. Then you would have the problem, as some players would be stepping up from Conference to League One

I think this is a good squad for this league, however I do not think our current squad would flourish in league 2.

I think we've got a good squad of players but not the extra 1 or 2 with the extra spark. We could have one of them with Balanta and chances are we won't hold onto LDV as the other. Also in the defence we have Trotman who has a lot of experience in higher divisions currently sat on our bench. Also with Mildenhall being on the 2nd year of his 3 year contract what happens in goal. Whether we go to a loan keepers again like after Phillips, keep Puddy as our number 1 or someone else...

I was thinking last night what would happen if we got back to back promotions and ended up in league one with this squad or similar, I would want to add 2 midfielders, a defender or two and a striker minimum, quite happy with this squad for conference/league 2

I think this squad could comfortably hold it's own in League 2. Many of the squad have been there and done it and although the likes of Sinclair, Taylor and Blissett have shown so far this season that they have the potential to. I just hope they get the chance to next season!

Not sure you can say Blisset's shown potential to be a Div 2 player after just over 2 games for us? Even Akinde hasn't moved back to Div 2 after something like 30 goals in 18 months, as far as Taylor's concerned he needs to score far more goals before he can be considered good enough for league football.
The back 5 are probably good enough, the rest need to continue improving before they can be considered up to league football after all a month ago we couldn't beat one of the worse teams in Div 2 in the cup.

Only a couple would make the grade in league 2. Nice to be optimistic, but sadly misplaced.

Lg 2 playoffs? You've got to be joking.
We've got a team that works as a unit yes and players who work hard but there is a serious SERIOUS lack of quality. No way.

I think that's pretty harsh. There is plenty of quality in the side. I don't think playoffs in league 2 is realistic either but certainly we would hold our own in there. We still have a number of new additions and are still finding our feet as a team in some areas.

Remember that we are much more likely to not get promoted this season, than get promoted. Bookies have us as big as 7/2 to go up, so this kind of talk of back to back promotions is very dangerous in my opinion. I think we need to be more grounded as a fanbase. The reason that the frustration comes too quickly when we have a bad result is that as soon as we put two wins together we think we're far too good for this league. Not true.

I don't think we would get relegated in league 2 for sure. The team is of similar quality as most of our time in league two but is more of unit as a team.

Sounds like a wartime poster! It is ok to discuss the possibility of promotion and to wonder how we'd get on.
