I hated that interview. Lots on here, including me, were spitting feathers about our recruitment in terms of strikers. If supporters on a forum could see it last September, why couldn’t our head of recruitment? Negligence. ...but Pep just won the Carabao Cup without a recognised striker on the pitch, only “forward thinking” players. So if it’s good enough for him then BG was right all along! 😉

All I can take from that is that Tisdale shouldn't have been sacked if he was treated equally to his replacement.... Don't want to cause a ruck but it seems a bit unfair.... Widdrington clearly says the buck stops with the manager, following that logic though to its conclusion then you have to assume Barton will now be dismissed following our relegation, I very much doubt that's going to happen.

Of course widdrington says the buck stops at the manager door ! Would anyone admit to the shambles of the recruitment? My understanding his head if recruitment we bottom of the table can’t defend and can’t score! Ffs someone please explain to me how he still had job seriously?

I never wanted him in the first place, but I guess if I did then I would probably be more inclined to agree. Lol

I don't think he should have been sacked so quickly. Tisdale has form in getting sides out of L2. An ideal fit for next season, if in an imaginary world we had never recruited him or Joey and we had gone down under Garner.

Yeah, I think thats what makes this season hard to take because there are just too many 'hypotheticals' to mull over and it can get a bit difficult to comprehend.... I find it's better to just think that they all *** up.... Its easier to deal with....

Tommy ffs we could have build a wall to cover our goaline and carried it to each game and still got more points than this f**king lot will this season you absolute plum. 46 and the max we can get is 44 and in truth we will be lucky at best to get anymore than our current 38. Bottom convincingly, embarrassing.

We were doomed when he came in, equally a poisoned chalice to Barton.. difference is I have trust in Barton who knows what it's like to succeed, unlike lower level Paul or PE teacher ben

That interview with TW in Feb saw him coming out fighting his corner, came across as indignant that recruitment was being questioned.
Clearly there was a fall out between TW and Tis who had highlight shortcomings of the squad and this had to be behind the dismissal.
Now Barton has repeatedly said the same as Tis plus a hell of a lot more about recruitment.
Surely this puts TW and Barton at loggerheads and also raises big questions over last summers recruitment policy, TW’s position from here on and then what happens with the whole Rovers DNA plan.
The DNA plan is ok to a point, but that starts in the development squad not the first team.
So where do we go from here in terms of policy? Looks like it could be TW v Barton.

It's been clear for weeks now since JB first started slamming the recruitment, that TW and JB cannot work together in their current roles. Either TW has to change roles, or one or the other have to leave. Simple as that.

Playing Devils advocate, Widdrington won most of the matches he took charge in didn't he?
One of them, the win over Pompey, Ayunga looked brilliant.
Just saying.

I get your point but that's not his job though. His job was to sign players who will perform for the first team manager. Ayunga's played under 3 managers and scored 2 goals in 32 appearances. I'd say that Tommy got extremely lucky that he just happened to be in the dugout for the one game where Ayunga scored in all season.

Then you could argue TW let Rovers down by not taking on the job himself. The manager is in the firing line, in the trenches. TW had engineered himself a nice position back at the chateaux advising Field Marshall Wael without having to put his neck on the line. Why give that up when you can recruit three fall guys?

Let’s reflect in October, by then all will be revealed and we will all know if JB is the top dog or have we been sold a pup? Either way it’s gonna be very interesting over the next 6 months that’s for sure!
