I would be very suspicious if first time posters are actually Rovers fans especially if their first post is a new negative thread.

I’ve read it all now some prude who’ve trolled papers looking for dirt and written saying a load of crap says he wants his club back go away never to be seen again and leave it to real supporters who’ve been been supporting when you were still in nappies

I don't think that keeper Adam Smith we had was a great so called role model either but we got over that.. I never got over the fact how rubbish he was though.

Just seen this on the daily mail and thought it might interest peeps on ‘ere www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52369355As someone with bit Oirish in me , I find his remarks about caravans and the like deeply offensive ! Yet the club employs a person with deeply xenophobic views ? That coupled with employing a criminal , really tarnishes are rep im afraid to say . Used to be a family club, but now families will be turning away in disgust . Been supporting since the great smash n grab in the mid seventies and i want my club back mike This post gets my daily K N O B award

Ben Knapman the Fleetwood vlogger has just put a video on his Facebook page talking about Coutts & Finley leaving the cod’s to join Rovers, he speaks highly of both, well worth a watch.

He’s a footballer, no need to be a saint. Whatever he did he got punished so he’s paid his dues. He’s come here and has a clean slate. Welcome to Bristol Sam, I look forward to seeing him play and helping us have a good season. I’ll let those fine citizens of Daily Mail-land live in their ivory towers. Christ, if they told me today was Thursday I’d go and check it on a calendar.

I also believe it’s spiteful and cowardly to do so. We used to excommunicate people for heresy and insult in the Middle Ages. By the way, it isn’t your club. It’s owned by Wael Al Qadi.

Well said, mother Therese would have been perfect for the midfield, eminent scientist at left back, I want our players to give 100 per cent for the badge, his interview sounded promising. People forget A J s past, and Tyson Fury, don t see any true football role models other than Marcus Rashford and for his professionalism based on limited ability James Milner.

We’ve had a glut of trollish accounts register on here recently. I don’t know if it’s the relegation or the lockdowns or Joey Barton, but it’s got quite hard for the mods to deal with. It just ruins the place for other members quite frankly. So I’m sorry Smashngrab1, you might be a genuine Gashead, in which case feel free to reregister and share your passion about the Gas, but an obviously incendiary first post attacking a player who’s only been here five minutes suggests otherwise. So you’re gone. Where's that LOL button when you need it?

I noticed that there were a few ‘crying’ on Twitter that we’d signed such a ghastly human being, as he’d also got a few red cards, along with his ‘where’s your caravan’ misdemeanour.
I think we need to open an area in the ground for all the Benedictine monks that now apparently follow the team!

As an Irishman now residing back home in the emerald isle I'm well used to anti-Irish sentiment in Britain: whether it's conscious or subconscious. I would suggest "pikey" has entered the vernacular to such an extent that people don't even realise it's offensive. I would suspect Finley was one of those people and had no idea as to the severity of such a comment, directed toward an Irish person he didn't know, and as such an 8 game ban and an educational course are perfect punishments to fit that particular crime.
Why berate a young man who said something silly, paid for it with a ban and has educated himself and learned from it? I would suggest that A) that's a perfect role model and B) Why do we always look to find something negative in new signings?
I obviously don't speak for all Irish people, but I don't think I know anyone who would be adverse to signing someone who learns from their errors.
