I'll obviously wait and see (not writing the bloke off by any means), but this isn't the experience DC said he wanted. We're going to go from someone with hundreds of games to someone with 8 (according to Wiki).

I wasn't saying he's going to be bad, he could be bloody brilliant, just saying theres a big gap of experience there. Seems DC wasn't allowed to sign an experienced keep. Commenting on the decision this morning, the manager said; “The Conference granted us permission to bring in a young keeper with limited experience and it took a great many phone calls to find a player to fit that criteria. “I am grateful to everyone involved for allowing us to bring another keeper in and especially grateful to Notts County for letting us sign Fabian as he is an excellent goalkeeping prospect who has experience of playing in their first team.” Read more at www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/rovers-complete-emergency-loan-signing-2125094.aspx#luLRrJdWPWbTumWu.99

why would permission only be granted if it was a gk with limited experience??? again another 'quirk' in this league!!
this is a far bigger blow now that we 'have' to have a kid in goal for 6 wks or another young gk if he goes bk 1stjan. FFS!!

FFS!! Agree - you get the impression this competition (I refuse to call it league) is run in the same way as a parish council. They just seem to make it up as they go along with absolute bl00dy mindedness.

You can understand that the League are looking and seeing that we are a big club (in this League) with a young keeper available unlike some clubs who will probably have a first choice keeper plus a youngster like Keiran Preston and would play him and therefore are not giving us the chance to get in a keeper who could give us an advantage. I would imagine they would also look at the fact that Puddy was injured BEFORE the transfer deadline. I could have understood it even if they had denied us the emergency loan because of these circumstances. Remember Preston has been on the bench this season.

Mildy out for 4-6 weeks minimum is a blow, but if we can get Mark McChrystal a clean sheet away at Wrexham, then surely we can get by just fine with this bloke?
We have one of, if not THE best defence in the league. Providing Spiess is even average Conference standard, we'll be fine IMO.
LDV could be the bigger loss to us.
