Not my thread!!!
Depends on how far England progress. If we go out in the round of 16 or the quarters, I think there will be a lot of the pressure on the FA to entrust this youthful crop of players on someone else’s shoulders. Rightly so as I think we’ve got a talented group of players coming through and it’s important that they are coached well.
If we somehow get past the quarters again, which is admittedly unlikely if we play like we did against the Scots, then it would be hard to get rid of a guy that would of by then had taken England to the Semis of two major competitions.
We’ll have to wait and see.

How about waiting until the Euro's are over before starting this thread? Regardless it's not like Southgate has a squad of world class players at his disposal, particularly with Kane off form and Stirling also not in the best of form and Henderson unlikely to be match fit.

If you boom this post in a week or so’s time I’m going to be annoyed.

Is the poster thinking ahead, in that Southgate could be JB's replacement should he be convicted in November

Perhaps the reason players are not so good when they play for England as they are at club level, could be that for England they play against many of the worlds best players and perhaps the Prem league is not so good as the media would have you believe?

Because I can see we are going to limp out of the tournament. I thought Southgate said he would play players in form? Then you'd be questioning why he'd dropped Kane for Calvert-Lewis if he also failed to score? Maguire and Henderson must be big losses for Southgate. The truth is on a good day we're in the top 8 European sides, changing a manager isn't going to change that stat.

Sack Southgate only if you have a better manager in mind to take over.
So who would people want as manager ?

Southgate is a lifeless robotic man with absolutely no charisma, a complete yes man for the FA and if he’s actually got a pulse I would be highly surprised.
I hope to be proved wrong, but I haven’t liked his tactics or team selection and he failed to beat Scotland with one of the best squads we’ve had in a good while.
Perhaps we can hire a manager who can inspire the players and Southgate can get a job in the accounts department. I’m sure he would feel far more at home there

Bobby Robson was always under pressure and we didn’t always play great football. Ultimately there are such fine margins at the top level of sport. As much as we’re not playing particularly well, we do have individuals who can hurt teams. England could go out in the round of 16 just as easily as they could sneak through to the semis or finals and then lose to a France, Belgium or Italy. If they did that, Southgate’s record would arguably be on a par with or better than Robson’s. His team didn’t qualify in ‘84 and were woeful in ‘88, in between the two honourable World Cup showings. Masses of people wanted him gone, the press campaigned against him and he twice submitted his resignation but ultimately the right decision was to keep him. Continuity with a group is often a good thing to have if you can get it, and our squad is quite youthful. Unless we get humiliated in the next couple of games I’d stick with Southgate.

2 incredibly defensive and boring performances so far, plays for a 1 nil win in competitions to scrape through. I wouldn't want him in charge fir world Cup if continues play this way.
