I realize this may stoke a fire, but that is not my intention.
Genuine question: What happened to the SC chairman elections?
I have some recollection that some of the nominees we barred from running or pulled out?
I only joined the SC to have a vote in this but have had literally zero communication from the SC since joining.

The chances of getting a reply are probably 50/50

I was/am one of the SC Members and put myself up for election for the SC representative on the BRFC Board of Directors. That was a while ago and the election was due to be held at the AGM of the Supporters Club - however that AGM was subsequently delayed because of the Pandemic and COVID restrictions. The Secretary of the SC has recently contacted me to see if I still want to be put forward and has advised that they are currently trying to re-organise the AGM, when the election will be held, for sometime in the next few weeks. I am awaiting the final details but it seems that things might be sorted soon. BAGGINS will be very pleased to hear that my priority will be to sort the sausage roll situation out

I think the SC is becoming more irrelevant every year. It's the same now as it was 30 years ago. Dont know what benefits you get from being a member. The new "club" offers will kill the SC off for good

Do we still have fans elected to the board or has ken put the stop by the club ? I'm pretty sure Wael said the position is open and anyone can stand. So long as they are not called Ken or Jim.

Actually it isn’t. It’s whether your face fits with Ken or Jim as I found out. Even when you’re nominated and seconded, they seem to have the power to denominate you without consultation with the people that put you forward. It’s a closed shop and as someone has said, irrelevant, as they are unwilling to change and are quite happy to carry on as they are with the sole motive to besmirch and attempt to undermine our owner. Wael would be better off buying their shares, closing them down and then giving the shares to the community trust. By then reintroducing a new share scheme for supporters it might give an opportunity for a younger generation to invest and work with the football club, rather than against.

Sounds very undemocratic and maybe against there own club rules an regulations

But you’re coming up against people who tried to embezzle the owner on a false accusation of child safeguarding such is their desperation for some kind of control so perhaps I’m better off out of that and I’ll bid whomever takes it on the very best of luck because they will need it.

That's awful, I always got the feeling it was a pretty much a closed shop, but didn't realise they were that extreme when it comes to guarding their little kingdom. Like Hugo, I became a member so that I could vote in the election.

What a very odd football club we support.... Agree it's like the Mafia, you would think a football club would be a simple organisation however,we seem to have created a private club within a club. All so unnecessary and pointless.

The irony being that if the SC opened up and unpopular people, both with the club and fans were removed, then surely the SC would become more powerful.

All so unnecessary and pointless. The SC carry out some very good and noble deeds, programme sales, raising money via 50/50 and there are lots of people who are members who are honest, humble, kind and all round nice people. The ones at the top table discolour and dishonour their members by their acts. It’s such a shame.

The irony I find is that most supporters clubs of football clubs that I read about complain that their owners refuse to communicate with them, they lobby their owners to invest money, build facilities, and improve fans experience and actively engage with supporters to join them in pushing the club forward. We have a supporters club that appears to refuse to communicate with the owners, hasnt had any fans representation for nearly 2 years, makes up illicit stories about our owners refusing investment or refusing to build stadiums and training facilities, having no money, spending money, not spending money or wanting to sell. They make no effort to engage with any supporters, not even their own members and are almost insisting on doing everything to hold the club back and not drive it forward! You couldnt make it up! Only at Bristol Rovers!!
