Read a newspaper report on James Belshaw from last April where it reported that he made a string of superb saves against Walsall , appears he could be a very good signing for us and may give the flying Finn a run for his money . If we could get this one over the line , then a target man and possibly another right back is all i can see we would need to be ready to challenge for promotion this season

I am confused, there is no way the keeper in goal on Saturday is 6'3"?? Just double checked on the google... and its either 190 or 191cm so about 6'3" - seems weird if he didn't look that size... How did he compare against Hughes & Anderton (both 6'2")?

I think sometimes people think ‘keepers are smaller than they are. Isn’t Jed Ward 6”1 yet talked about as very small? Same with Pickford at 6”1…

He didn't have many shots to save on Saturday, but thought he was comfortable on the ball and his distribution was good.

Hughes & Anderton both looked bigger, but camera angles can be deceptive. On the basis of his performance against Plymouth he looked a very good keeper I hope we can sign him.

This goalkeeper is small, but the one out there is far away.

Having watched Belshaw for the past few seasons I am surprised that his on the market! He is very vocal organising the defence, commands his area, kicks well and is a good shot stopper I can only assume he wants a better contract and HTFC have allowed him to talk/ trial with other clubs. I would be surprised if he came to us, just to keep the bench warm and only play in the EFL Cup

Yes he has only managed 21 appearances in each of the last two seasons (albeit 2019-20 was cut short)
