Westbrooke gets daggers for the same reason lines used too. There was a run last season , one of many where we weren’t scoring many at all I think it was 3 goals in four games and westbrooke had assisted all of them but there was loads on here saying he does nothing. He needs a tough ball winner alongside him , which he didn’t have last season but I think he can be excellent for us and create loads this season. We’ll see.

Stuart Sinclair and Ogogo tough ball winning get it and give it players with limited technical ability on the ball. Many don’t appreciate that, same as many don’t appreciate playmakers who don’t get stuck in but as anybody who understands football knows you need a balance in the team. Every team needs a Sincs or Ogogo after Sincs got injured / left we replaced him with Ogogo and still had steel in midfield. But without either of those last season we had no fight in midfield.
One of many reasons we went down. But certainly a very predominant reason.

Michael Meeker. On the other hand, I still maintain Craig was sh**e. I remember his debut at the mem, think it was against reading who we signed him from, had an absolute stormer of a game. Didn’t quite live up to that performance again after though

Matt Gill. Thought he was an intelligent player who regularly made passes for players to run onto and they never made the run into space. Probably part of the wrong team as he was criticised for not being a battler. Great player but in the wrong team at the wrong time. My dad and grandad named him the crab, always going sideways apparently, I actually thought he was a great player on the ball, very rarely gave it away just lacked that combativeness like you said

I always thought Chris Lines divided opinion, as did Ollie Clarke. I thought Linesy was great albeit not the best defensively. Ollie Clarke was superb every now and then, but more often than not very poor, IMO.
More recently, Ayunga I think should have been given this season in L2. Clearly has talent but needs to improve certain aspects of his game. I think he'll do well at Morecambe.

Yeah I would have kept Ayunga for sure he’s just the kind of build that every league 2 club should have at least one of up front and he showed at times he’s got ability last season in league 1 which was his first professional season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the top 10 scorers in league 2 come the end of the season.

Always thought Haldane was a better player than he was credited for and put the work in. Another two that I rated we’re Mark Foran and Che Wilson. Guy Ipoua would have probably been a bigger player for us if there was not the depth we had at the time up front. I thought Haldane was awful. He frightened defenders with his directness but he was a headless chicken with no end product.

Well in that case I would have thought staying with us or dropping down to league 2 with a different club and playing against lesser players would be more beneficial to his career He was excellent in that game v Pompey ( I think ) when he got a brace and showed glimpses in other games but I wasn’t convince he’s league 1 standard last season. A season in league 2 could really have kick started his professional career I think. Not so sure it will playing for Morcombe in league 1

Perhaps not very memorable for many, but I thought Lee Thorpe was a great foil for Junior Agogo. Bit of an Owen and Heskey relationship!

His crosses were often straight across the 6 yard box with nobody there.

I seemed to be the only one on the East Terrace who could see the footballer in Aaron Lescott's first 150 games. Then he became very appreciated.

With this sort of player you never know how good they are until they aren’t there. So..... Abu Ogogo, our manager couldn’t see how good he was for us. Gets rid then he comes back makes us look better and gets an injury. Underrated player. Tom Nicholls, we always looked better when he was in the team. D.C. could see it but not many others apart from JCH. UTG!
