I'm sure if we don't get the result everyone think we should on Saturday, this thread will soon escalate. Well I for one think we will get beaten against Mansfield ... Very decent set up ... Good manager and possibly have had a better build up than we have given our injuries and Covid set backs. Not enough of our first choice players have had enough game time. Will take three or four games before we really get going i sense.... We have some winnable games early on as well. Think we will finish at least play offs btw... Playoffs?

From a player perspective only... Still may happen but we need to move Baldwin on and Hargreaves and Liddle out on loan. RB probably required but no rush. Would have kept Jonah, but understand places are limited. Feel we need a young big no.9 for the squad. Gonna be a tough start as the team are way underprepared, hopefully we have enough to get a few results in the first 4 or 5 games or it could turn a bit ugly. Yes, agree as we do seem underprepared. But reading what’s been happening elsewhere I think there are several clubs in league 2 who’ve had their pre-season disrupted by Covid and player isolations. So I take some consolation in that it’s not just us who’ve been messed about. We’ll soon know. 😉 UTG!

I think we will win the league by so many points that it is decided we are too good even for League One and get fast-tracked to the Championship.

Would have kept Ayunga over Hanlan .... Absolute crime we had to pay a fee for him and possibly the only reason he is still around. Would maybe tried to move a few more on as well ... Baldwin, Westbrooke, Harries, Barrett - Although I expect a few of these will be gone before the window closes. I don’t think I’m imagining it, but didn’t JB say he was tracking Hanlan when he was still the manager at Fleetwood, which could explain why Hanlan is still in the building and Ayunga got the boot.

I'm sure if we don't get the result everyone think we should on Saturday, this thread will soon escalate. The worry has to be that we'll suffer an heavy defeat against what is liked to be a well organised team with decent new recruits and a top class manager. Like last season I doubt we would have picked a harder opening fixture if we'd tried. The home game v Stevenage will be a better pointer to where we are.

He did say that, which was during his "gee Hanlan up" phase. When he realised that Hanlan was beyond saving last season, he switched tack to "I wouldn't have signed any of these players", I seem to remember.
