Just been listening to the Gascast chat, and found it interesting to listen to one of the speakers dreading the abuse away fans will give us/Barton this coming campaign.
Got me thinking.
Will it create a siege mentality amongst Rovers fans or become a massive distraction and hindrance?
Will I be singing his name as he trots across the turf?
Will Barton himself worry at all? Will it affect the players?
Hoping we get off to a promising start as a poor first 8-10 games could really see the place get toxic

In adversity Gas come together, even the anti joe brigade need to support the team, and be the twelfth man.
We need to stay grounded and not cocky, going to be a difficult league to get out of, but if we all stick together, we can make our home ground like Galatassary where no one wants to come.
If I was a mod I would make it a no court case discussion forum until the trial days, in that way there will be no bickering and just football chat, no one person is bigger than the club UTG!

No - they are professionals and will get on with itHoping we get off to a promising start as a poor first 8-10 games could really see the place get toxic UTG Here's my take above. I support BRFC not Joey Barton. I will be at Mansfield and will support the team vociferously, but I have no intention of singing in support of Joey Barton. Yes, opposition fans may give Barton abuse, but that is not new for him. I am sure he has learnt to handle it.

Will I be chanting Barton’s name is support - yes
Will I be doing all I can from the terraces to change the chant from barmy army to blue and white army - absolutely!

Pressure in football all depends if we have a few wins or not.
9 points by the end of August and all will look well, for the time being.
A bad start, and who knows how the volatile Scouser will react? His natural instinct, it seems to me, is to lash out and blame other people. He did it with us, verbally, last season, and he's done it in other ways in his life.
Still, it's his team, his staff and apparently his club. So maybe he'll thrive under pressure.
The reaction of the fans will be largely determined by the number of points we get. All other factors are almost immaterial.

He’s no different to any other manager in that respect.
