No point arguing about it, we’ll never agree…I just think we deserve better than one impoverished owner after another along with their broken promises about funds and stadiums and success. Enjoy the new season. UTG Honestly spoken, with some of our ungrateful fans carrying on like this, why do we 'deserve' better? Maybe some should put their own money in. Enjoy tomorrow folks, and keep the faith. Yeah I'm sure everyone on here has got the funds to run a football club. You planning to invest?

Well said pp and Bishopston. Let's welcome the investment from gaschat and his mates.
With their funds and positive vision for the future who knows what we could achieve.....

I don’t think a lack of stadium is holding us back at all. If we were selling out every week and the stadium was preventing our progression to the Championship then I’d I stand the perspective but it’s not. Only so much Wael can do, the club are letting him down

Enjoy the new season. UTG No we won't. Why is it you and your mates can't stop trying to stick the boot in at every opportunity? It's the eve of a new season. Lighten up ffs! I was trying to be conciliatory, I think you are the one with the lightening up issues, try growing up at the same time …perhaps you should get out more.

I always find those who are easily bored are generally the most thick and boring themselves…3900 season tickets and just relegated, again. I rest my case. Why don't you just find a club closer to home to support? Nobody is forcing you to carry on supporting a club you seem to now detest. I have a right to support which ever club I like and as I’ve been doing it for almost 60 years I object to relative new comers challenging me over it. As my support is significantly more objective than yours, perhaps you should find something more worthy in which to channel your intellectual energy.

That's not really the issue though, Wael's never stated financing a new stadium was an issue, in fact he's stated the opposite.

Can we calm this down and remain civil to one another please.
If we can get this back on the topic of Wael and his interview that might help things.

I have tried to respond to Gaschat's attack on BishopstonBRFC which in my opinion is out of order and I've reported it. Perhaps you would be good enough to review that and take action then the likes of me wouldn't need to get involved in the first place. Keep ignoring the little group with their anti-Rovers agenda and there'll be no forum left before long. Just my humble opinion of course but I'm hating see this crumble before my eyes (and on your watch!).

After all that’s been said about trying to post without attacking other posters it’s poor that there’s been so much of it in this thread. Telling others with a different opinion to go and support someone else! Really!
But I’m pretty sure that on his takeover WAQ said that financing the new stadium wouldn’t be an issue, it was among other things said including the “evolution not revolution” mantra and the idea of building a sustainable club from the bottom which was why the development squad was begun. Clearly the UWE wasn’t right and that’s fair enough if the owner felt the conditions weren’t correct. I have no problem with that and I’m pleased to see the new training ground and many things that WAQ has done.
But he can’t get away from answering questions about our ground imo. It’s 4 years ago this evening that the UWE went down and nothing, or very little since has happened. It’s particularly strange given that WAQ said how important a new ground would be (see pirates post above) when he took over. It would be strange if he was only prepared to answer questions about stuff that he was happy with, you can’t just pick and choose what to answer questions about. Perhaps as owner you can refuse to answer but you’ll upset people by doing that. He should have been a bit more forthcoming. By continually blanking questions about the ground he’s making the issue worse rather than better and whilst I’m sure he’s not ignoring it he’s giving the impression it’s not important. He’s not doing himself any favours by his attitude imo.
My helmet’s on! 😉
UTG!

One second us mods get accused of acting like authoritarians and the next we’re pressured to act on posters with negative views, we can’t win. I don’t think it’s any one viewpoint that’s ruining the forum. We’ve had people with views like Gaschat come on here in the past, it’s not like it’s a new phenomena. It’s the constant arguments and bickering that a lot of threads seem to end with at the moment. People seem so intolerant of others views and when you get that happening, it often gets personal when each side refuse to budge. It’s quite sad to see really. The way this threads gone is a textbook example of it. I think COVID and Rovers have got us grumpier over the last 18 months, whilst taking the knee and Joey Barton have also provided reason for divided viewpoints. I think sometimes it’s on us as the individual to stop and think “before I post this post, will this help in anyway or will this just make the situation worse?” I’m guilty of that myself sometimes, of being deliberately argumentative and not helping things. So that’s why I intervened in this thread earlier. To appeal for some calm and respect for others views. That very much applies to Gaschat, as there is absolutely no need to tell others to grow up. You’re right.

So my post was aimed at both.

You’re right. Well said….. As you know, I wrote a long thread about tolerance and requesting that we all try to show a bit of empathy….. I guess my biggest issue with some of the extreme views that are posted is that they are made on here and without any rationale or evidence to back the views up or without any consideration of the wider environment etc…. I would have a lot more sympathy for some of the views given if they were supported with a rationale at least - especially when everything generally points to the complete opposite (e.g. we’ve got no money yet we sign 13 players, we build and develop a training ground, we pay off debts and managers etc….) Not saying any view is wrong, but at least back it up with rationale…. Whats even more frustrating is that when asked why they think the way they do or what is driving their opinions, it just gets ignored and no replies…. It’s almost like they enjoy dropping the grenade and watching the threads explode…. Then give it a week or so and suddenly that same grenade is dropped again…. Please, can we all learn to respect one another and at least back opinions up with reasoning so it creates healthy discussion rather than tit for tat name calling and arguing

Please, can we all learn to respect one another and at least back opinions up with reasoning so it creates healthy discussion rather than tit for tat name calling and arguing Exactly. In 99% of cases if you employ reasoned arguments, it won’t get personal because the post will give the poster replying more context as to what their argument is and in turn they’ll reply with a response to the original posts contents, thus helping the thread stay on topic. That’s what will get this forum back on track. Healthy discussion, a bit of banter and ribbing occasionally perhaps rather than as you say tit for tat name calling and arguing. I know we can do it as well, because there are some fantastic posters on here that produce well reasoned posts to every thread that they contribute to. I’d even prefer a well reasoned and explained “negative” view to a short, terse positive one. Genuinely.
