Not sure I learnt anything new from that interview if I’m honest.
In a nutshell:
-Promotion the target for this season. -Frustrated with the relegation last season. -3,900 ST sold. -Encouraged by summer business both playing and back room additions. -No new updates on new stadium. -No comment on Barton legal matters. (Fair enough)

Good to hear that we got 99% of our targets this summer. Our squad must be bigger than Man City and Chelsea's

I think that Wael is giving a clear public message that JB has been given everything that he wanted with excellent back up staff so now its time for him to deliver - No more excuses.

Not sure what else he could say really. Seems fairly close to Joey B, which in football terms is probably a good thing.

The stadium thing is becoming a bit of a joke now not sure how long he can get away with no news. This has to be priority number one for me yet he doesn’t seem to give a monkeys

I agree it's been going at glacial pace, and is incredibly frustrating, but to say Wael doesn't care is just wrong in my opinion. Why would he NOT want to get a new stadium?

The stadium question is always left too wide open for side steps. Needs to ask a more direct question.
In how many years time will we see Rovers playing in their own new built stadium ?
3-5 years 5-7 years 7-10 years Further away than that. Never.
Sam then needs to push for one of those answers. If a sidestep forthcomes, he has to reply. "That was waffle so Rovers fans can therefore take that answer as meaning never" Then quickly move on to another question. Thus not giving time for more political speak.

A good interview by Wael. He has made it clear that promotion is not only the goal but the expectation. None of this 'pushing for a play off place' nonsense that I have read from some. He expects promotion and nothing less. He has given Barton just about everything he has asked for, so the only person who can be blamed for not securing promotion this season is Joey Barton. Hopefully, this time next year we will be looking forward to being back where we were when Barton joined and debating whether Barton has the skills to take us to the Championship.

Wael is absolutely right to demand promotion from a manager . At the top you have to demand the best ,if you dont set high standards why should those below set them (?). The minimum any Rovers chairman/owner should ever allow at the club is 17th place in league one. Anything below that is complete failure.

I think he does care and wants to deliver a new stadium for us but to answer your question on why he wouldn’t is simple. He doesn’t have the funds required to go it alone and to build one would require him sourcing outside investment and him relinquishing some control over the club. Thus remaining with our tents for the foreseeable IMO.

You are not financially invested in any stadium project so have no right to inside info, (if there is any to know). Also how can Wael give you an answer when he is not in a position to know? The sense of entitlement of some supporters is laughable.

Thus not giving time for more political speak. That question would not get a useful answer because Wael and his team cannot know the answer. A fairer question is "When do you want to make progress on a new stadium?". I expect his answer, however, would be "2 years ago".

Well, it’s a different interview from normal. He’s very determined isn’t he which is good. I’m not sure I’d say that “pushing for a play off place” is nonsense. It’s where I think we are and anything more is good. Anything more would seem a bit like entitlement which I always dislike because we have no right to anything, it’s all got to be earnt. Big difference between talking big and achieving it. But I do like the change in WAQ, no excuses for JB this time. Fingers crossed. UTG!

I seem to remember Geoff Dunford talking in a similar vein when we were first relegated to this division. As we found out then it takes more than words to rebuild a team and make them successful. I think we are going to need to be patient. For me bottom half safety will be a good result this season anything more would be a bonus and promotion beyond my wildest dreams.
