Absolutely. I remember Norwich getting hammered 7-1 at home by Colchester on the opening day back in 2009. Norwich went on to win the league that season. A win today would be glorious but there will be no overreaction from me if we don’t get the result we want. You’ll be the only one. If we lose you can guarantee there will be a full on melt down from some. It’ll become toxic and the anti-Barton/Wael crew will be in full force. We’ll be nailed on for relegation etc. etc.

Can’t wait to get this season underway! Would take and settle for a draw today but my head tells me it could be a narrow defeat. Come on rovers, come on you blues UTG

Good wishes to Wael, JB, and all staff at Rovers, good luck to all the players old and new i sincerely hope you can give us a season to remember for all the right reasons and banish the memories of the past few months. We have a good man at the top and i believe a manager who knows his football and if he can rid his head of the demons could go on to great things. easier said than done i know as there are plenty out there who will try to bring out the dark side of JB but somehow he has to keep a lid on it, hope he gets help in this respect . After last years events i have no idea how the squad will shape up , it looks good but then again so did last seasons! we will soon find out. Finally good luck to all the fans who will have there game back this season, safe journey to all going today, have a great day and what ever happens lets not have a melt down or 'crowning of champions' reaction post match! up the Rovers! Love this. Couldn’t agree more. Considered. Balanced. Hopeful.

I’m hopeful that we can grab a goal and take all the points. It would be a great start to our season and give a few more hope.

I'm with you on that, I've not even been excited about the new season for the first time in 42 years, I'll be happy with a point today. The first 5-8 games I think are going to be vital, just so we what we have got and what we are possibly capable of' league and Cup!

I have mixed feelings about this season but I’m looking forward to being distracted by football related matters once again rather than anything else.
Today will be one of the tougher games you’d feel. Mansfield usually invest a fair bit into their playing side relative to the club’s size and in Nigel Clough, they’ve got a good manager.
I’m looking for a performance rather than a result from the game, would be nice not to lose like we usually do on the opening day though.

Been following the Gas for nearly 60 years but this year I'm struggling to feel much interest or excitement. For me it's a combination of lockdown-blues, let down of last season and the Barton factor.

Was thinking about starting my first of the season (Not having to be up at 12:01 a.m. to beat GGMI!), but YG beat me to it. I therefore bow to YG's greater stamina (and the fact that only this week I got out of hospital and am still seriously knackered) and am going to predict a will we/won't we 1-1 draw. Of course, we only have Harvey up front, but I hope he'll put up two fingers to the Mansfield defence and get his first Gas goal! Suspect Joey will go with four at the back and hope LT will be as good as he has looked recently in the midfield, or alongside HS. UTG
