Our first game of competitive football held in front of fans at the Mem since early 2020 and there’s no Match day thread up yet? I’m disappointed in you guys I expect a fair bit of rotation from the side that played on Saturday. I think we’ll see the likes of Belshaw, Taylor and Kilgour start for the first time this season. Obviously we’re technically the underdogs given they’re in the league above but I don’t think they will be much between the sides. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a result and progress to the second round. UTG!

Well, the Blues have just won Bargain Hunt with profits on all four items - we have to win tonight!

I have to remind myself constantly that we are the underdogs here, quite hard to accept but it's a fact! Hope there is not to much tinkering as team needs game time to gel, perhaps one or two who are in contention or injury recoveries, would be good to progress and have a cup run, as Axe says ,bit concerned of lack of interest in starting thread, where's GGMI when you need him, though on second thoughts!

I think we'll see a heavily rotated side. I'm hoping the likes of Zain Walker and Tom Mehew get a chance tonight.

I think given all the striker issues I would not be against seeing Jarmani Langlais lead our front line tonight. Phillips could also be an option but I think that Langlais is a bit more of a larger frame that we probably need in the one up top.
With that in mind based on JB comments I'm a go for 4-3-2-1
Belshaw Hoole Kilgour Taylor Harries (where are all the LB's ?) Grant Liddle Westbrooke Spence Langlais Tomlinson
Subs: Ward Baldwin Heal Budd Hargreaves Tomlinson Saunders Martinez Mehew Phillips Walker

He won't rotate the squad, but the players involved will be all the ones that weren't involved against Mansfield? Seems like a contradiction in terms?

WE could get a right drubbing tonight OR some of the people on the pitch take their opportunity to show what they can do and force their way into JBs League team thinking.
I think it is seriously bad luck that we still have no fit striker on the pitch and our Captian will be missing alongside his partner in Midfield Crime Mr Finley who i think could be awesome for us this season.
Cheltenham will want to win looking for further glories whilst i sense we are happy to use up PCs 1st suspended game and not much else.
I would 100% bring in Belshaw and maybe even let him have a run as I think Anssi has been below par from the games i have seen and wasnt great again on Saturday.
Still in shock over Cian Harries from Saturday ( What a hit that was) but why not let him stay at Left back .. Hopefully Alfie might be back and Pablo too. Luca should stay in contention too.
Midfield will be a mystery to me as will attack - Maybe Rodders, Spence might return in some capacity? Cant really see us troubling their keeper much at all.
Real shame as first competitive game at home for ages and incredibly we have so many 'injured'.

I haven't seen any interviews from JB yet, but I would expect to feature a number of players from the weekend. We haven't had much of a pre-season, we've had players coming back from injury or COVID etc. The players need minutes and the team needs to gel. So I think this will be a fairly strong line up tonight.
I agree that the new keeper will start. I suspect he will play in all early stage cup games to prepare him for the times that Anssi is away with Finland (or injured..)

Real shame as first competitive game at home for ages and incredibly we have so many 'injured'. I'd imagine like us league status is more important than cup glory to Cheltenham, so I doubt they'll take any more interest in the cup than us. If that is the case then hopefully Cheltenham's fringe players are inferior to ours, as they've probably still got a smaller wage budget this season.
