Bristol Rovers F.C can today confirm the addition of Kevin Bond to Joey Barton's first-team coaching staff. The 64-year-old has a wealth of coaching experience, working in the Premier League at Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham and QPR as Harry Redknapp's Assistant Manager. Bond managed AFC Bournemouth between 2006 and 2008 and his most recent role was as Manager of Southend United. Bond will be in the dugout for today's Sky Bet League Two fixture against Exeter City. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2021/august/kevin-bond-appointment/

Stupid question, but is he related to John Bond who managed Norwich back in the day?

Stupid question, but is he related to John Bond who managed Norwich back in the day? Yeah, John Bond was his Father "Bond was born in West Ham, London. He started his career as a trainee at AFC Bournemouth where his father, John Bond, was manager. When his father took up the manager's post at Norwich City he too made the move" "At the start of the 1981–82 season he was again reunited with his father at Manchester City" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Bond_(English_footballer)

We have a manager in waiting should Joey be found guilty or decides to leave
Experience in Bond and hopefully a calming influence on Barton. Hopefully advise JB you don't get anywhere constantly giving match officials criticism.

You're four down in half an hour in what is being described as a disgraceful performance; but give Kevin Bond the manager's job and believe me it'll get even worse.

From a footballing pov, I’m not over impressed with this. Istr his football wasn’t the best at AFCB although he’ll know Brett P from their time together 06-08. I guess there’s a reason he’s not been managing much in the last 10 years or so. UTG!

I guess there’s a reason he’s not been managing much in the last 10 years or so. UTG! Not sure that'll help him coaching our defenders! He wouldn't be my first choice although given his age/experience perhaps JB will actually listen to his advice, assuming he's still capable of giving him any. A 64 yr old coach, suggestion we're looking at 36 and 37 yr old players, it all seems a bit surreal, is JB going for experience heads or just getting desperate?
