This seems as though we reverted back to the Rovers of the Buckle/McGhee period. Bouncing between managers in League Two with journeymen players looking for one last pay day. Well Wael's evolution not revolution philosophy has been well and truly abandoned if some of the older players talked about on here are actually signed. Which they might not be, of course. But Joey's approach, with little attention to youth, massive clearouts of existing players, and getting old heads on board seems very short term, ie get us out of L2. I won't be complaining if it works. JB's sole target seems to be get promoted this season, there's now no suggestions that he needs to build for the future.

Get back to League one and then start worrying how to get into the Championship.

Surely it's more a case of worrying about how we'll stay in L1, should we get promoted, when all the players have to be replaced again next summer? Regardless it's a complete reversal on how the first team was being run under BG.

But if we get promotion the chances are that the squad will not need a complete rebuild for League 1 . The chances are that most of the older players will have performed well and be fit enough for another year but if they havent then we have no need to offer them another contract.the squad has a good mixture of experienced players but not particularly old. I would say we hav e a much better squad than last season.

One year contracts for a one year mission. Im sure JB knows midtable wont be good enough ,playoffs minimum . Thats not meant in a disrespectful way to other league two clubs. Rovers cant afford to stay in this league .

Not worrying about next season yet. I’m just worried about getting the first 50 onboard (points, not 50 year old).

I'm guessing the days of me having heard of any of our signings are well gone.

We have had a few years of getting rid of experience when a bit more of it would have helped.
I hope its not all panic stations but a considered approach. Still want Hanlon to stay.

Rumours going around that Rovers are in for him. Anybody heard anything? Where you seen this? A mate of mine who has a connection to the club told me that Wheater was due to be at the training ground this week. He’s been known to get some things right in the recent past so was curious to see whether anybody could confirm hearing about Wheater too. There’s also talk about David Nugent too…
