Another day, another anti Rovers story from the Bristol City Evening Post. Complete bollocks since the bookies don't even list him. This story is designed to stir shitt and its worked. I have challenged James "im a lazy git and get all my stories off the rovers forum " McNamara about it, yet to deny it.

As has been said, I honestly can't see him leaving to go there at this present time, I think he's built a decent team and wants to get promotion with us before anything else.
If he can take us up and Hartlepool stay up I would say he would choose us over them every time, the only thing in their favour atm is their league status.
I also think that it's nonsense and just more lazy journalism by the evil post grabbing a story off of here.

just like Gerry Francis / Ian Holloway / keith Curle / Tony Pulis [add ex-player/ex=-mgr name here] was linked to Rovers everytime a vacancy came up, I suspect DC will be linked everytime the Pools job comes up. Spent 6 years there.

Not all of them, just the ones who have been blessed with the biggest mouths and shortest fuses! Barnet fans keep slagging off their manager too, it's a sign of the times.

I can only assume the use of the term "Retards" is what we now call Intellectual disability, not sure it's appropriate to use as an insult, but takes all sorts i suppose. If it is an insult, not sure why "our fan's" which presumably means all of us on here are in need of being insulted.

DC has done pretty well so far but I tend to agree with Dinsdale. He has achieved nothing yet. I still think if he had solved our striker problem as he pledged he would we wouldn't be nine points behind Barnet now. Let's see where we are after the Xmas period before we start picking up shoes, shouting "it's a sign" and hailing him as the new Messiah.

Nobody is slagging off the manager though just saying he aint going to Hartlepool and he isnt the new Fergie for having us 2nd in the Vanarama early december.

If, and it's a big if, Hartlepool are interested in appointing him then surely it all comes down to what contract they can offer, in terms of salary & length, against what Rovers are prepared to offer him to stay. Didn't DC suggest in the summer he was on similar money to last season? If so, it might not take a lot to tempt him, talk about unfinished business is nonsense if he can double his pay and length of contract.
I'm Regardless still not convinced he's doing that good a job, as he's inherited last season's back 5 but failed, apart from LDV, to bring in any quality forwards so far, perhaps Hartlepool feel the same if they don't want him as manager??

I don't think there is anything in this other than paper talk. Still bit of publicity for DC and some for us just shows we are not completely forgotton.

He also didnt manage to rescue us. He is more suited to managing a non league team with a big budget and an opportunity to build his own side then save someone elses players from the drop

This is where I add this quote. The people that say DC didn't even build the defense are the same people who say Trotman is the best CB we've had in year.. Make your minds up ffs!!

He is more suited to managing a non league team with a big budget and an opportunity to build his own side then save someone elses players from the drop To be fair what manager would rather take someone else's doomed squad over a big budget one division below? If DC fails with us (which I don't think he will) at least he will have had a reasonable crack of the whip. He (we) have a team of battlers rather than bottlers. We have players to be proud of even if they are not the best we've ever seen. For the first time in a long time I feel like we have 11 players out there that I want to get behind, that I care about and that I believe they care about the club. They actually deserve our support. Ego and nonsense behind the scenes has gone. Bloated pay packets on a sick note have gone. I haven't left a game this year feeling ashamed to support Rovers. I can forgive lack of quality when the work rate is there. When I see a player like Taylor miss a chance its never because he wasn't committed or not trying hard enough and I can live with that. For that alone DC is the best manager we have had since Ollie. Could any half decent manager get us up to 2nd? Maybe. But DC has done more than attain a good league position, he has changed the whole culture at the club and in short time too.

I suppose it depends on your perception of what's more important and what miracles you are looking for.
I was less worried about results and more worried about what our club had become.
Over paid wasters on long contracts not putting in a shift and off pitch antics were making a mockery of us. There was a poisonous atmosphere and a huge disconnect with the fans.
Things just seem better this year.
It's a personal opinion only, but I think sorting our culture, contracts, spirit and personality of the team was the thing that needed fixing most. Results will come once that's done. So far, so good.
The fact that we are 2nd is a huge bonus. I expected the transition to be much more painful.
Tis the season to be jolly.

True, and perhaps we need to keep being reminded of that fact, whilst the football is average at best and surely can only improve, the results are impressive.
