Based on reading the forum I feel like a lone wolf because I am willing to remain patient and see how things go with the current manager and the new set of players.
I'm not arguing for JB, but I'm willing to stay calm and watch what happens over the next few months.
I can't disagree with the concerns expressed, about off field matters, and our start has been poor. We have had a couple of good halves so far and quite a few poor ones. But I think it will change in time.
It is sh** us being so sh** for so long, but I think we will turn the corner. And change now would be fruitless.
Just wanted to offer an opinion that I'm not feeling I see on the forum much.

I totally agree with the op, but the really worrying thing for me yesterday was our inability to beat 10 men and in fact we could have easily lost that game! Let’s face it if we couldn’t win away yesterday in the circumstances when the f**k are we going to win away? I was going next week but I’ve already decided not too, as I can’t really justify the £150 it will cost me for the full day out. Sad times at the mo I’m afraid.

Don't blame you at all, and I suspect gate numbers will continue to fall. Irrespective of results, Barton just isn't fit to manage this club and it's horrible to watch the damage being done.

Whilst I am not impressed with results it does remind me of the DC era.Take over someone elses team, get relegated, slow start the following season with a large percentage of fans wanting him sacked. The window is still open to bring in 4 or 5 hopefully decent players so I will give it till the end of September before passing judgement. I think with the forwards we have we will create plenty of chances but need to spend on a decent striker to put them away and not rely totally on Pitman

I completely understand those that think it's gone too far already but I just dont see how having invested so much in allowing Barton to completely revamp the squad (and with more to come it seems) the sense in ripping that up after 5 games. Of course there will come a point when enough is enough if results still dont improve but imo we aren't there yet

When you reshape an entire squad it takes time for things to start to click. It was the same last year with BG, alot on here calling for his head and in the end got what they wanted. What happened next?

With DC we were literally only in the drop zone for minutes. With JB we capitulated more spectacularly than the Titanic and as the second halves against Oldham and Barrow showed, we have absolutely no desire to improve.

I’m in the patient camp. I was with Garner too, not so much with Tis despite feeling he could have been good, the fans warning from Exeter was bang on.
What ever feelings we have, pretty sure we are going to have to buckle in for the ride. He is supported by Wael that is clear. Window closes Tuesday night so the dust will settle, and all focus can be placed on the remaining squad members with the uncertainly gone.
We are not alone in this league or the one above, some bigger teams also struggling right now following an overhaul.
It’s been bloody hard being a Gashead and will always be, this is a bit different employing JB, ripping out the old squad and structure and embedding something new, i am cautious but optimistic. Most now hinges on the components JB will bring in and the players that will leave.
Feel like a bit more pain before the long term gain.
Feel for the guys that travel home and away as I can’t afford to do as much nowadays. Used to love it, but can’t be easy on the recent performances travelling so far.

When you reshape an entire squad it takes time for things to start to click. It was the same last year with BG, alot on here calling for his head and in the end got what they wanted. What happened next? I think there is an important difference between last year and this. The squad last year was full of unproven young players who were brought in with an eye on the future. For the immediate term players like Westbrooke, Nicholson, Ehmer, Hanlan had decent pedigree for L1. This year, with the benefit of hindsight on what went wrong with that "strategy", Barton has brought in players with a wealth of experience at L1 and L2. But there is absolutely no evidence of any long term plan given the ages of so many of them and their careers to date. So in effect Barton is relieved of any responsibility of the medium to long term for the club, unlike Garner where that responsibility was quite specific. His first task was to keep us up, which he very loudly said he would. He failed, failed in a manner, by giving up, which was a disgrace for a professional manager. Given that he has, apparently, not been tasked with developing a squad for the future, we could reasonably expect him to use the summer to construct a squad for this season that would compete in L2. But to date there is zero evidence that he has managed that. In fact his record is at least as bad as Garner's, who was operating under a different, longer term, strategy.

I agree with what a couple of posters have said on this thread. Logically you do give them time and understand that it may turn out to be a two year project, at the very least. As long as fans can see some sort of progress, a semblance of a plan and the players playing for the shirt then we’d be happy.
The problem is Barton being so bullish about getting promoted and this being backed up to a certain extent by Wael, though saying ‘promotion is the aim’ is not the same thing as shouting from the rooftops that we will get promoted even after getting our backsides whooped at Exeter. I live in the North East and a couple of my Newcastle and Leeds supporting friends have brought that comment up, to show how far it has travelled. It makes Barton and us as a club look like a laughing stock, which in truth we undoubtedly are.
Wael can’t sack Barton right now after backing him to such an extent and we just have to suck it up at the moment and hope we can get to a mid table position to make the next appointment’s job a little easier, as it seems inevitable that whatever happens, Barton is not going to last long here.

After the bloke has just had the whole summer and brought in a completely new squad? What is it exactly that gives you the impression this person is a competent or credible individual?

However it is madness to sack him now, before the window closes when he says he has 4/5 players done and there are 39 games to play. If we click in sept/Oct and win 4/5 on the spin everything looks different. He’s still a twat though.

Despise the bloke. Have a season ticket but will not go either home or away until he is gone.
However, am willing to continue with my own dirty protest and advocate giving him more time and rope to finally hang himself, more stupid soundbites, more bad results, more clueless management.
Can't wait for the day he leaves / get's the sack / get's sent down but let him have his ten more games, after all he deserves the privilege.
