The government is set to introduce plans to lift the ban on standing in the top two flights of English football according to the BBC. Now we may as far away from reaching the championship as we’ve ever been, but I think this is good news for the sport as a whole in this country. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58357046

I thought the teds already had a 'safe standing' area at Trashton? I think they do, but maybe it could only be used like that for rugby?

We're so far behind the times we've become ahead of the times. The Government just needs to announce that away ends can now be uncovered and we'll have a state of the art ground!

We're so far behind the times we've become ahead of the times. This is it! This is the answer! It says here that a bolt of lightning is going to strike the clock on the blackthorn end at precisely 10:04 PM next Saturday Night! If we could somehow... harness this lightning; channel it into the Flux Capacitor, it just might work. Next Saturday night, we're sending you back to the future!

Hughes is so slow he could possibly go back in time and warn Wael

I realise that we as a club do not currently have a all seater stadium, but consider this. How do young kids of five years old, our future fans, cope when a six foot bloke tanked up with six pints decided he is going to stand up( if he's able to) or an older person who can't stand for long periods is faced with the same problem. This is the way to drive people of all ages from watching our national game. A few years ago at Walsall, I was faced with the same problem, when a couple of so called Gasheads decided to stand in front of my two small grandsons making it impossible for them to see the game. When asked by me to sit down, I was met with foul abuse and threats. This demonstrates how to drive older and young fans away from football. This doesn't happen at cricket or rugby matches, so what is different at football stadiums. S

Maybe this is what we’ve been waiting for before being able to submit our new stadium plans!

And its not too bad if you know how and where.... I always found the west enclosure by the tunnel the best, but obviously there's a 300 yard up and down walk to get there, but people are pretty accommodating.... But away games can be a bit of a chaotic experience for sure....

Would be good at away games if you could have a choice between ‘allocated’ and ‘unallocated’ tickets (with separate areas obviously). Might not solve the problem completely but would go some way to helping.

It is at away games that this problem arises. Our fans, when visiting games at Plymouth,Walsall etc, ignore ticket seat numbers, go where they choose, stand instead of sir and did everyone else. That is why I do not attend away games. It is a waste of time complaining to these people because you are only faced with abuse.

I never had a similar problem, you can usually easily work out where the yobs will sit (stand) so you just find a seat well away from them.
