Wembley - 28th May 1995. 89th minute. Stewart scores instead of hitting the bar. This for me too. This was the sliding doors moment for the club. Stewart scores and we return to the championship. Stewart stays. We return to Bristol at the Mem. The what ifs there are endless. That would of been an equaliser no guarantee of promotion.

I'd rush back to January 2001 and take the batteries out of Garry Thompson's alarm clock, thus ensuring he missed his interview for manager and we avoided our subsequent fall into L2 for the first time ever. Not particularly that time but those 2 years around the turn of the century look to have been a real turning point in our history. Up to that point we’d always been there or there about in the promotion race to the Championship through the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. But we challenged. Since then we’ve gone up and down between Leagues 1 and 2 and even worse, non league. Returning to those days when we challenged in League 1 seem a long way off. UTG!

That would of been an equaliser no guarantee of promotion. You could see we were in the ascendancy, Browning had forced a worldy save a couple of minutes earlier. I'm fully convinced an equaliser that late in the game would have put us on top and buried Huddersfield.

If I could turn back time I would avoid football.

Never sell eastville, what a ground we could have had there. First thing I thought of. All these suggestions are great though For me I think I should have stayed at home in August 1969 and saved myself 52 years of desperate hope, despair and misery which I fear will continue for the remainder of my lifetime . Hmmm, yup 1966 for me and still hooked on the drug better known as Gashead blues … 😉

Only because we were chasing the game, virtually every team drops deep and hangs on with minutes to go to defend it's lead.

Ironically, these days we seem to sit back and defend a defeat instead of chasing the game

Happy now?

Or perhaps should have sacked Ollie in the summer after the lack of leadership to even secure a playoff place . Bringing in a new manager to take the squad forward not backwards. Or convinced Roberts that staying with Rovers was the best move for his career and so guaranteeing our promotion to the Championship, who knows Holloway might have then got us to the Premiership like he did with Blackpool a few years later. As Wareham suggested I don't think we've ever really recovered from our subsequent relegation to L2 the following season.

You got me Rovers I need Rovers I can't let go And I want you Rovers. Should never have let DC go I can't let go!

I always remember that match, including a pile driver from Robin Stubbs, his first home goal at the Muller Road end. Never forgotten. Or was it another one? Great game, I think we were 3-2 up at half time but it might have been 3-3. Typical Bill Dodgin match. UTG!

I was sat on the apparatus on the greyhound track in front of the South Stand, I remember the sights, the sounds and the smells as if it was yesterday and I absolutely loved it when the floodlights were on preventing us from being engulfed in darkness. I can still see the images vividly in my head. We won the game 3-1 and I remember for ages thinking it had been 4-1 only to learn a goal had been disallowed. Can't remember what I had for tea yesterday but will never forget my first experience watching the Gas!
