I know we’ve already had two match day threads, but I didn’t want to neglect my duty of trying to keep the luck at Walsall going. Mods feel free to merge - my work here is done. Tilly OUT! I’m happy to give Tilly ten games. She’ll need to get 15 points ( 1.5 PPG) , so currently on target for a play off spot.

Someone please, for the love of god himself, take the armband from Paul *ing Coutts. I did not think I’d ever see a worse Rovers ‘captain’ in my lifetime than Max Ehmer, but my christ have we found one! He's finished at this level. Legs have clearly gone.

Why just post a load of made up rubbish, since when did he say he'd given up this season? A manager who wants to stay and fight would not offer to leave like he has and also be willing to leave for free like he can't wait to leave. He has given up. Before Walsall he told the players publicly to put up or shut up. It wasn't a great performance but we managed to stay in the game due to Walsall not being great on the day and the last 10 minutes we played well. Probably to his own surprise. All week he has been saying he hopes we've turned a corner, like we all hoped, but clearly we haven't and now he has made it publicly known that he has offered to leave. Common sense stuff really Topper. Hardly giving up offering to go if Wael felt he wasn't up to the job, if he'd given up he could simply resign and get away from this car crash of a club.

Think the word you're looking for is: "sorry". Sorry then if that makes you feel better.

That’s extreme even on a night like this after the two and a half seasons we have had. This club will not end or cease to exist that does not happen to football clubs. Can you name one that has completely disappeared. Whatever happens Bristol Rovers will exist in some shape or form the same as Accrington, Hereford, Wimbledon and many others who were written off and consigned to the football dustbin. We have got some hard times ahead as if what we’ve had to endure isn’t enough while this club sorts itself out and who knows where that will take us, but Bristol Rovers will be there long after we have gone. I guess you could argue none of those original clubs still exist but have all been replaced by new phoenix clubs? What I can't understand is Wael seems to be throwing £m's at the club but we just get progressively worse each season. You can probably count on one hand the number of good performances since we had the new pitch installed. Likewise what's the point in having similar pitches at the Quarters if we don't perform on matchdays at the Mem. Bit like Bristol City 82 you mean.

Offering to leave doesn't scream that he wants to stay or he is passionate about the club or that he wants to fight (figuratively speaking) to get us back to L1. Offering to leave screams out 'do me a favour Wael, let me go now'. He has given up. It's my opinion. You probably feel otherwise and I respect that. Shame you couldn't respect my opinion that you called "rubbish".
As you are giving out apologies, do I get one too?

You have a different opinion. I'm not asking for an apology because of that lol. The difference between our opinions are that I respect yours by not throwing insults to them. However you call my opinion "rubbish". This is where I joked (hence the wink) about asking for your apology because you were handing out apologies lol

Just watched the highlights - I have to say Alfie was very unlucky with the penalty and sending off. the guy was about one metre away when he shot - there is no way Alfie could get out the way!! Plus Im not sure it hit his arm at all

Plus Im not sure it hit his arm at all Surely we can successfully appeal the red? Even if it hit Kilgour's arm, which I don't think it did, I'm not sure how he's supposed to move away from the shot, it's one of the most ludicrous decisions we've had against us this season.

The day after and I can't remember much of what the home team did.
Apart from a really well crafted goal from us, it just felt like the inevitable outcome from lots of swindle pressure.
They're number 10 Payne in the middle was what we were missing last year. When they played garnerball along the back line he was their out but instead of playing backwards or sideways all the time he'd mix it up with a pass or dribble forwards.
In the middle for us, Finlay is the only one who has earnt a wage so far this season. I can't understand what the point of coutts is. Seen absolutely nothing from him yet. Whelan will keep the ball at least but won't do anything progressive with it and slows the game down.
Further back, I don't think Barton knows his best back line. I don't know why Harries survived the cull. He's a highlights player who, once a game, will ping a 50yd pass and fly into a 70/30 challenge which is all well and good for YouTube but papers over his many defensive deficiencies over 90 minutes. I still hope Kilgour comes good but he needs someone beside him to cover his mistakes (remember Tony Craig?!).
Doesn't seem to be any of the passion we were supposed to be proud of by now. Just apathy and a dull ache on Saturday mornings when you realise there's a home game on.

Agreed decisions went against us but that can't disguise what was a very disappointing performance.

Started leaving after their second goal and with the sound of them celebrating their third. Shortage of hot drinks and food at half time. Had to walk the long way around to get to my car before they has even left the ground. It was cold and wet and then I heard someone say the sh** had won. Apart from that had a lovely day out

Swindon were way better.
As I have just said in another thread, with Brett Pitman up front by himself teams do not need to defend in numbers against us. They can attack and Swindon did just that. We need to start giving sides something to worry about.
Belshaw can't do much more for me. We defend poorly and give away penalties.
Defenders wise I don't know, I quite like Browm, but not sure who the other 3 or 4 should be.
In the middle Whelan and Finley are the players I will build around. Coutts is having a terrible time, doesn't influence and loses the ball.
And up front I don't really need to say any more, but I will, let's see some legs up there I want 2 strikers who are chasing everything and put teams under pressure.
We are missing likes of Nicholson, Collins, Thomas and others should be getting a look in.
Sad times, I backed Barton, but again he is getting it wrong and/ or players not responding to what they plan in the week.

I just don’t have any anger or disappointment left in me at this stage. I’m totally apathetic at the shambolic way this club is being run and has been run for the last 2/3 years.
Swindon were on a completely different level to us yesterday. Thoroughly deserved their win and it should have been 5 or 6.
Their organisation, passing and movement off the ball put us to shame. They looked like a meticulously drilled team with a clear game plan, philosophy and style, and we looked like a bunch of 11 strangers making it up as we went along.
Buzzing for Ben to get one over on that mouthy bellend in our dugout, in all honesty. Keep your mouth shut Joey and just win some games. Or better yet, leave.

These heat maps show the scale of Swindon's domination.
Rovers (left side) had 445 touches and were stuck mainly in their own half and had very few entries into the final third, let alone Swindon's penalty area.
Swindon (right side) had 702 touches and enjoyed plenty of time in Rovers half.
It's interesting that the hottest part of the heat map on Rovers map is in our own box and the hottest part of Swindon's map is also in our own box.
