So here we are. Another Monday morning. I was so pumped up by the last 30 minutes on Saturday that I went to a family party, started drinking and just kept going. I regretted that decision on Sunday. At 62 it was a bit daft. Now that the dust has settled - a win tomorrow and surely we can start to dream we have turned the corner. I’m with Joey - no doubt team is playing much better. We are a fit machine these days. So few gaschatters have voted on this poll. Time for some on here to review or vote for first time. Most fans on Saturday were very supportive of Joey. I agree JOEY IN. Why? What on earth will it show? I’ve lost count of the number of polls we’ve had on this. I don’t imagine WAQ will be waiting for the result of this poll somehow. JBs our manager at the moment let’s just get on with winning games. A more accurate figure might be that nearly everyone on here supports BRFC and want us to win, every match and move up this league. But rich, you really need to stop telling people what to do. I thought you had but here we go again. UTG!

That’s how it is on here. The best of Bristol Rovers just maybe are not here and I include myself in this. We all seek to improve.

It only seems like it. Facts suggest otherwise. Too much emotion and judgement on my posts from some just isn’t helpful. Some over react to far too many posts. I’m just having fun enjoying this moment as we start a run to the play offs. Happy days. Let’s focus on the football. Let's focus on the football says the guy that focussed on the forum poll. Polls are useless says the guy who set one up himself to try and get different results. Gaschat opinions don't matter says the guy who has spent a lot of time pushing your NLP positive attitude content on to users over the last few years. Too much emotion, judgement and overreaction says the guy who grandstanded blocking people and wanted to, in his words, 'police' the forum and purge opinions that weren't in line. It seems to me you're just a politician trying and manipulate the narrative, crying innocence when you get called out for hypocrisy. Yes agreed. Rich's narrative has got a bit darker recently, ie You're either positive or you're not a true fan. If you criticise you are not worthy of a place amongst the "best of Bristol Rovers" fans. If you vote Barton out, you should change your vote. If the mods don't block Barton Out people, everyone else should. If Rich had any power or influence he'd be a bit alarming of late. Luckily he doesn't. When it's just the groundbreaking goals and bus nonsense it's quite amusing, but trying to manipulate forum members is a recent and unwelcome tactic.

Makes you wonder if we are gonna have the “Not Guilty” bus in a few weeks time. I can just picture it: “with the power of positivity we can deny justice and get him acquitted” Ridiculous.

I agree I have no absolutely no influence. I really don’t try to manipulate members. We should all be concerned that on such a key role vote only 213 expressed a view. Instead of distracting conversation about me and my motives we should be encouraging more engagement with this forum. As I don’t live in Bristol it’s my only way to keep in touch with the club we all love. The friendships I have made with travelling fans show a better side of our club. Many on here can’t go to games or live away and so they use this as a friendly place to engage. I’m truly sorry if any of my posts have caused offence. I’m a really nice guy I’m told.

I missed that earlier point. We need more than 213 votes is my point. We should be all concerned about lack of engagement.

It seems the players are playing for him I'm in the stick camp at the moment we cant afford to be chopping and changing every 6 months will financially kill us. How many times have to thought that in the recent past against the league's bigger club's, Sunderland (home) (TC's 600th) Sunderland (away), Pompey (TW's first game in charge) P'boro & Charlton (both away), only for the players to revert to normal the following game? Tomorrow's a crunch game as we usually follow a decent performance with a poor one. If we play well then at least it'll show they are playing for J1B not just because they wanted to impress in front of a large crowd. We should win tomorrow night agree depends which team turns up, but need to get Thomas and Nicho on for more time and keep a high press, and unsettle them, hope Tearsdale doesn't t do a Garner on us, as he didn't seem to want to know when he was here.

Too be honest it doesn’t really matter now as I don’t want my thoughts tied up with trying to manipulate the voting system. I messed up and wasn’t as clear as I could have been. My concern has been to increase engagement with this forum. It would be great if more engaged. Sure they will as we turn Hope into a run to the play offs.

I think that both polls were probably a reasonable representation of the regular GasChat posters, at a given point in time. Which may well bear no relation to the views of the wider fanbase in the real world. I'm pretty much taking it a game at a time now, we need to keep turning that corner.

Im just trying to understand. Do you mean the number of votes from the first poll which had the majority in favour for JB? Ah I see. Don’t know about first poll. The one now has 213 voters. I've just checked and the first poll was done before the end of last season and before we were actually relegated. Poll made on 2nd April. There were 182 votes. 151 was in favour of 'JB in' Many people at the time claimed it was a fair representation of the overall fanbase.
The latest poll now has 214 votes and the majority are in favour of 'JB' out. But now many people are claiming it is not a fair representation of the fanbase. This is what I find strange. These polls are a fair representation when more want JB in but not fair wen more want JB out. Why is that?
For the record, I agree with you that 214 votes or 182 votes are not a fair reflection on the overall fanbase. I just don't like the hypocrisy from those who change their mind depending on which side of the debate you are on.

I agree, it's a fair representation of the posters on here. But not the fanbase overall.
I can see why the first poll was more in favour of JB staying (although I voted out) because it was made early April and not yet relegated and he would have had less than 6 weeks in the job so I can see why people wanted to stick with him at that point. The latest thread was made after a very poor start to this season following relegation so I can see why more people want him gone at the moment. I think it is fair to say some people may have changed their mind yet again and swaying back to giving JB more time after 2 wins and a draw in the last 4 league games.

Good point that I agree with. I didn’t know the history of poll. I agree its hypocrisy and you are right to call it out.

You know how it works. Win a few and he’s the almighty himself. Lose a few and he’s a deadbeat. Football really is that fickle.
Get us into the top 6 rapidly, and you’ll find the “he’s an awful man etc” will be a very isolated and small group.
It really is that simple. As with any workplace, all that matters is merit and results.
