I’m not that fussed about League games at the moment, let alone this. Some pizza trophy against a Prem under 21's? No thanks.

Form Guide In their previous match in the Papa John's Trophy, Chelsea drew against Exeter 1-1 but did go on to be victorious in the penalty shoot-out which followed the game. In the Premier League 2 this season Chelsea have only won once so far this season from their opening seven league games. That solo win came in a 4-3 victory against Liverpool U21's with Lewis Hall scoring the match-winner in the 95th minute.
Past Encounters
Rovers have faced Chelsea U21 two times in the Papa John's Trophy and have a perfect record against the Londoners in this competition. First in 2019 with rover coming away 2-1 winners at the Mem. In 2020 Rovers came up against Chelsea again winning a thrilling encounter 4-3 behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Rovers had lead 3-1 during the match but two goals from the visitors drew them level. A superb stop from Jordi van Stappershoef kept Rovers in the game with the time ticking away. Josh Hare popped up with a late goal which gave Rovers the win.
Ref Watch
Christopher Pollard is the man in the middle for Wednesday's fixture at the Mem. Pollard has officiated two games in the Papa John's Trophy this season, officiating the games between Forest Green Rovers and Northampton and MK Dons against Wycombe. Over those two games, Pollard dished out five yellow cards. In the 25 games Pollard took charge of last season between the Sky Bet League One and the Sky Bet League Two, Pollard handed out 83 yellow cards and 8 red cards.

Blimey, that’s a refreshing listen. Plenty of straight talking and common sense from Kevin Maher. A different type of pre match interview perhaps. UTG!

I think we need to delete this thread and start again. (2 pages already). Historically ten pages or less equates to a win. #Concerned 2 nil Rovers Boom, boom , boom , let me here you say Mehew, MEHEW. Boom , boom, boom, let me here you say Mehew, MEHEW.

Hopefully Mehew Phillips and Martinez get a chance against the rising Chelsea stars. Chelsea played Billy Gilmour and big money as signing Danny Drinkwater in previous ties against Rovers.
Looking forward to it.

Bristol Live's expected team: 4-2-3-1
Ward Hoole Kilgour Harries Anderton Martinez Hargreaves Thomas Westbrooke Jones Pitman
Whattttya think of that? What would you do?
Personally, I would like to see Mehew and Phillips start but can understand that certain first teamers need minutes in their legs

Apparently no programmes or 50/50s on sale tonight as advised by the FC to the SC matchday co- ordinator.
Strange, as the 50/50 for these type of games usually sees a prize around the £100+ mark.
Then again, the FC now have to pay someone to count the tickets and money and organize banking, accounts etc.
In the past when it was all run by the SC, we would even get £25-50 for a GFA or FA youth cup game on the basis that every little helps and other than the actual tickets there was no costs as all done by volunteers.

Thanks for the update mate Hopefully things like this can be addressed by the new top brass at the SC and the FC going forward - I'm sure it will take a bit of time to mend that rift, but feels like it could be moving in the right direction from the little updates we have seen UTG
