They're charging 35 quid for a 16 year old plus ticket vs man United. If that was Rovers I'd be spending £105 for tickets for me and my two sons plus food and beer be looking at £200 in total... Truely disgusting. No thought about their fans

What are their fans saying on their forums?
The problem is, people will pay it!

What do you expect? Quid for a kid?

Shysters, sanctimonious pr*ck squawking on the box last night.

No thought about their fans thank our lucky stars we are in non-lge and lost in the 1st round then That's not a pop at you, it's just a light hearted comment about where we are and where they are. To be honest who needs supporters who will pay £30 for a 3rd round tie with Man U, but won;t come to any /many of the other 26 or so home games in a season. Let them have those fans.

What do you expect? Quid for a kid? How about rather than just giving ST holders first dibs on tickets, why not also give them cheaper tickets. And then maybe supporters club members (if they have one) a price somewhere in between. now that really would be looking out for your core fans, and also milking the lurkers in what is genuinely a 'windfall' game.

Not a bad idea regarding ST holders but to be honest I really don't mind mind paying the price as I feel like I'm actually helping the club in the best way I can.

I know few Man United 'fans' who are getting off their sofas for once and going to this! In the home ends of course, I think a few others might have the same idea!
But yeah, disgusting prices for a football match, but like someones already said. People WILL pay those prices!

Great shout. However, playing devils advocate, if the boot where on the other foot so to speak, there'd still be a lot of unhappy Rovers fans who would argue that they go to every game but don't have a season ticket and therefore shouldn't miss out on the offer. Perhaps a better shout would be to say that any fan who goes to the Yeovil v United game and pays £35 and retains their ticket stub for proof of purchase will then get given £2 off their ticket price for the next 8 homes games they attend (I'm estimating the usual cost for a ticket is about £19). Over the next 8 games, fans would then have clawed back the extra money that they spent. It's also possible that those who enjoyed the day out and don't go regularly would in fact turn up again due to the incentive of having a couple of quid knocked off of their entrance price. ST holders could then either be given £2 drinks/food vouchers (as they'd already have tickets) for the next 8 home league games so that they don't miss out. Or, if this wasn't suitable maybe £20 discount off their ST if they renew next season. That way people who have STs or go regularly both get rewarded AND those who are just coming along for the day out may even want to come along again meaning that the club are making even more money. Hopefully what I'm trying to say makes sense lol

So under 16s are £10 for all but the premium seats and 65s and over also get a £5 discount. Pretty reasonable in my book. "Ticket for Town's third round FA Cup tie against Manchester United go on sale to season holders today. Prices are as follows: Thatchers Gold Terrace: Adults: £30 - Seniors 65 and over: £25 - Under 16: £10 Screwfix Stand: Adults: £35 - Seniors 65 and over: £30 - Under 16: £10 Tamburino Stand: Adults: £35 - Seniors 65 and over: £30 - Under 16: £10 Premium Seats: £50 (season ticket holders only)" Not quite as unreasonable as the original post hinted at perhaps. You would be lucky to purchase a ticket for a Premier League game for that little (even though they exist for less in theory). It is the constant dilemma on ticket pricing. After costs, I think half of the match day revenue goes to Yeovil, half to Man Utd for FA Cup games. I personally don't blame them for cashing in on this once in a decade opportunity.

Reading a BBC article on Yeovil, this statement actually made me feel quite sad. Some people have too much money...
Fair play if they get some of these 'fans' to go to more Yeovil games over the season, but I suspect they'll be there for that single game and won't attend another one.
I'm a little bit (emphasis on little) sympathetic for Yeovil given that they really have failed to keep hold of any casual fans who attended the games last season. Regularly getting 7/8/9k last year and now this year they're unsurprisingly back down to 3.5k.

the sad thing about this is it's basically admitting that fans are going to watch the away side, which for many this maybe the case. it's just depressing really that that Yeovil are happy to exploit that fact at the expense of people who probably actually want to watch Yeovil....

There is a lot of effort on this thread (including mine I realise) for a hypothetical situation that may not happen for a quite a while.
quite ironic really.
we may not be in the Lge Cup for a while, and may not be in the FA Cup 3rd Round for a very long time if we can;t even get a draw at the bottom team in Lge 2.

I was just speaking to a client of mine who provides electricity to W & S Waste which is Yeovil's sponsor. W & S wanted a box for the game and they quoted their own sponsor £120k for the box!!

That's crazy! I wonder what the price of a box to see them against soneone like Fleetwood or Oldham would be? few hundred quid? £120k is f*cking ridiculous!

Ah, the romance of the Cup... still, as some have said, fleecing those who never normally show up is fair game, if the regular supporters can get in without too much extra pain.
