Mets sat down with assistant Kit Man at Bristol Rovers and Gas legend Tom Foley. They sat down at The Barton Hill Boxing Club where Tom volunteers. Tom has been in post for 18 years and has seen plenty of the behind the scenes going on at the Gas. Tom takes us through what his role entails, the huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes on a matchday. He talks about his previous life as Captain Gas, one he took on to win a bet! He chats about the best and worst managers he's seen at the Gas and gives us a peek behind the curtain at what a motivator Joey Barton is. A die hard Gashead himself he talks about how he feels when following the gas up and down the country and clues us into why Ellis Harrison ran over to the bench when he scored at Wembley. listen.gascastpodcast.co.uk/276671/9429472-a-chat-with-tom-foley

The most entertaining and insightful Gascast to date. Tom Foley lives and breathes BRFC and must have Blue and white blood running through him. It is worth a second listen.

This is a really good listen . He’s speaks quite highly of Joey ….. make of that what you will. Listening to Tom speaking about Joey, it’s such a shame that alleged controversial incidents surround him , as I sure on the football side his professionalism & experience at playing at the highest level will improve the club on the playing side going forward & eventually success will follow.

Fantastic pod, cheers! Really interesting stuff and love the stories.
Great sense of humour too "it's like the dole office in Liverpool" 😆

Need to interview other Long standing volunteers Tony Mills, Keith Brookman, Jim Chappell, John Kayes, Andy Warren, Dave Rogers, Helen Wigmore to name just a few who contributed much to Rovers over decades. Their stories need to be told.

An excellent listen. Sounds like a proper character and nice to hear from unsung heroes like this who don't get the recognition they deserve. Great stuff 👏

Fantastic - loved it. You could have filled about 10 hours with follow-up questions to some of those stories - I was desperate to know more!
As others have said, interesting to hear him speak so highly of Joey as well, so as someone far from convinced it has given me a bit more do confidence in him.

I haven't listened to it yet (looking forward to it!), but surely he is always going to talk well of his current boss? It wouldn't be a smart career move to slag him off

Really enjoyed this - my favourite one so far. Good to get the inside track on how things are behind the scenes at the moment.
