Sadly we’re a lower league fixture for Oxford now. It would be a bit like us drawing Yeovil. A bit of an ‘oh well’ As pointed out the cup isn’t that exciting of an affair unless we draw a big name. We tend to do awful ourselves. Was watching two Oxford fans review the game and basically “it’s a big day out for Bristol Rovers, they’ll put a strong team out against the higher opposition and we’ll play some reserves etc” That’s how far we’ve fallen recently.

So Oxford get 2 new stadiums before we’ve even had 1?!?!? Well one and three quarters technically but I get your point.

Those club have always seemed to have a large fan base, Oxford apparently could never justify having 4 stands built at the Kassim! You sense like NH sold Wael a dream somebody is doing the same to Oxford's latest "investors". (Cardiff and Swansea both have double the population of Oxford according to the most recent census) Swansea City's final season average at the Vetch was 8,458 and Hull City's s final season average at Boothferry Park was 6,684. Oxford currently average 7,450. And we had an average of 3,500 in our last season at Eastville, as I said they always seems to have a large fan base, I can remember being at Veitch Field when it was a near a 20K crowd and Eastville when it was over 20K, similar at Ninian Park . I can never see Oxford getting regularly over 20K unless they some how attract a whole new following. Anyway will another new ground really boost Oxford's attendences, it not like the Kassim is old delapidated stadium like Veitch Field etc. Most Gashead's would be quite content with it as long as it had 4 stands.

Thought this thread was going to be about Oxfords very odd decision to have only 3 sides with fans, anyone know the original reason and why they have not bothered to finish it since ?, could always sell them our tents when we redevelop! Don’t think we’re in a position to take the P?!s out of the kassam. Not taking the water just asking the question out of interest, i thank those that took the trouble to find some info re my question which has been part answered elsewhere in thread.

I'm sure you would have been saying the same at the time about Reading, Cardiff, Swansea and Hull etc. Those club have always seemed to have a large fan base, Oxford apparently could never justify having 4 stands built at the Kassim! You sense like NH sold Wael a dream somebody is doing the same to Oxford's latest "investors". (Cardiff and Swansea both have double the population of Oxford according to the most recent census) Don’t remember Reading ever having a large fan base at their old ground. Used to love going to Elm Park which we always seemed to take over.

Hopefully we can aspire to be tinpot ourselves one day, but I think that may be a little out of our reach at the moment. Agree - We are Rag Bag at the moment and need to achieve Crap Sacks, Arse Wipes and Toss Pots before we can ever achieve Tin Pot status - evolution not revolution

(Toss pots probably are if rinsed thoroughly).

Yes, that comment didn't age well did it lol. I guess we would be more of a draw for Oxford than Sutton are for us given recent hisssssstory and there has been a decent rivalry for a while.
