The League Cup(?) game at Ashton Gate under Dennis Rolf where we came from 2-0 down in the first leg to win 4-2(?) over both legs. That tie seems a life time away now. Think we were 3-1 down at Twerton and the came back to win 4-2 at AG. Rained on us all night in the open end (before they switched the away end to the old east end). Great comeback and went through on away goals I think. Correct has far as I can remember.

Rovers v Grimsby (2015 play-off final). Absolutely crucial for our immeadiate future that one. Rovers 3 City 0 (1990) Stuff of dreams Rovers 2-1 Daggers Typifies Rovers spirit Rovers 3-1 Shrewsbury 2007 PO Final Should have been where we built upon and never gotten relegated from Rovers 4-0 Man U Everyone loves a cup upset and the Busby babes were the footballing powerhouse at the time. Pretty much as I see it but I’d include December 1973 Brighton away. 8-2 great publicity and all good. Nothing really rested on it but it was a great result and nearly 50 years later still echos with me and more or less started the legends of “Smash ‘n grab”. UTG!

I went to the first leg with my brother, his City fan wife and their City fan work colleague. The car journey back was hard, they were so confident. I don't recall who we played in the league in between when Dennis took over, but the change was so great I had a belief we'd turn it round. Even when we went 1 down in the second leg I still had faith. One of the best feelings I've had in football when we won. Great night out.

The only correct answer to the question of our most important game is "the next one".

We like to moan as Gasheads and yes, success is few and far between. However we’ve had a rich and varied history all things considered. Wouldn’t want to support any other club. I read a fair few football books and you'd be surprised at how often our name crops up. For example I'm reading 'All together now' the book about Wimbledon AFC making their way back through the leagues. We pop up a couple of times, but the big one is the 3-2 first game of the season at their place when they had been promoted back to the FL. Party poopers!

I went to both ties too, I'm pretty sure City went one up at Ashton in the replay but I don't think it technically made any difference to how many we needed. We just kept scoring (Meyhew's goal the only one I remember which was at our end). City were all over us in the last 5 minutes and missed some sitters, they only needed one to win the tie. One of the greatest and most unexpected comebacks I've witnessed. Edit.

Lol, no, probably be off before the half hour. And in any city match him and Gerry Gow would both be gone after 10 minutes. 😉 UTG!

With the key word being 'important' it has to be The Grimsby final. Our whole future depended on it, players, coaches, fans, and from it the legend of DC was born! Lose and well think, Wrexham, Stockport, York, Torquay, Chesterfield, and so on, does not bear thinking about! plenty of other more glamorous and memorable but none more important.
