Fair play to JB, I don’t know how he’s managing to keep it all together. I had a court case / possible jail time hanging over me for almost a year. Whatever you’re doing it’s always there , it takes control of your mind. First thing in the morning, last thing at night , on & off a thousand times throughout the day. I was guilty, and prepared for Prison, but the not knowing….are you going to lose your job your freedom, your future etc etc. It really affects you Just imagine if you’re innocent. Not surprising that some lose their sh1 t and flip out.

Cynics might suggest that Bartons wrap sheet implies a feeling he's above it. I hope he's innocent because I hope the justice system is correct and I don't want the "bad things" to have happened.

We knew about him being accused of shoving Stendel over when he joined the club so can't see this ending his stay at Rovers even if found guilty. This case on 16 December will determine if he still here for Christmas...if he really did kick his wife in the head then I can't see any future for him at the club. He will be finished as a football coach as in this day and age wife beating is career ending for anyone with a public profile.

It will be nothing to do with 'our luck' or not as we knew what we were potentially getting in bed with

I’m sure I remember Wael publicly saying that anyone convicted of violence would have to go (unless I imagined it?) so I assume a guilty verdict in either case will spell the end. That said, I don’t know the rules about appealing so that could drag things out?

Anyone remember Justin Lee Collins? …Exactly! Scruffy, sh*thead c*nt!! Guilty as charged but wasn't he convicted of harassment rather than kicking his partners head in?

That said, I don’t know the rules about appealing so that could drag things out? You didn't imagine it: On Tuesday, Rovers issued a follow-up statement in the form of an open letter from owner Wael Al-Qadi. He said: "The past four days have been tough for us all and I have seen first-hand that there is division within the fanbase which is not what we want heading into a new season. "Firstly, I think it is really important to confirm that as a club we stand firmly against any form of violence. Any individual that is found guilty of any such offences will be dismissed immediately. I understand the concerns expressed by a number of you.

Unless Wael completely back tracks now he's basically stated if JB's convicted of either offence he will be dismissed immediately, perhaps he should have just said something a bit more non committal to give himself breathing space i.e. if any individual is found guilty then dismissal will be an option we will clearly have to consider. Whilst the Stendel case seems a bit weak from what we've heard so far I'm not sure how JB's going to defend the alleged assault on his wife if the two friends apparently stated on the body cam recording that they witnessed the incident. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10214055/Football-manager-Joey-Barton-stand-trial-claim-beat-wife-Georgia-McNeil-35.html
