but somebody was looking and its on video.deal with it Playing on a freezing wet night a stamp on the foot hurts and whilst it is easy to say he should not react we are all human and should not have to suffer sly cowardly acts where the guilty party gains an advantage This isn't Sunday league.. if someone gives you an off-the-ball nibble you cannot flip out and start throwing head butts and stuff. Odds are the ref / linesman will only see your aggression and not the person who pushed your buttons. You will be punished and the team will likely suffer for it. This is BASICS

if you played football did you never react?I know I did.It is very easy just to say yes but he is a professional. With all the cameras and videos around grounds now if the will was there we could cut out all the holding ,diving and cheating retrospectively. It is spoiling the game for me You’re missing the point. It’s not allowed? As a professional he should be disciplined. What spoils the game is when players have a complete disregard for the rules

It is totally different playing PROFESSIONAL football. Surely you can appreciate that?

They saying "can't beat them, join them" springs to mind. Maybe finley should of gone down screaming, just like the Northampton player did for the pen? Gamesmanship seems to be a massive part of the game it seems? and lower league refs are just to easily swayed by players antics. It's a hard lesson we are learning in league 2!. As for Conlon there are no words for players like him, hope to never see him anywhere near our club, petulant cheat, even after getting finley sent off, spent plenty of time going to ground at the first opportunity! what like our bloke throwing himself to the floor to try and win a penalty. We do as much as other teams

I certainly wouldn't, can't stand players like that personally. One of the main reasons I don't like Premier or international football. Much rather watch an honest game of football.

You might have to take one upside the head for the team though

Fair enough for the red card to stand, but retrospective action should have been taken for the foot stamp.

Be fair are the ref's and linesman ever gonna admit their wrong, 🤔bit like some of the posters on this forum 😂 well depends what they are wrong about Finley retaliated and that normally warrants a red regardless of whether it has head, elbow or a punch You too 😂

No wonder Port Vale were congratulating Conlon after the incident. Not only did he negate our best player but managed to get him sent off after 15 minutes! I wonder what our fans would say if one of our players behaved in the same manner.....
Finlay is a really good player but his temperament is suspect. I suspect opposition players will continue to target him.
At his best, he could play at Championship level. Sadly, for him, that is unlikely because his ability to cope with the more unpleasant aspects of professional football is not as good as his football ability.
He is a L2 player for a reason.

So you agree it was unprofessional, reckless and stupid to react violently to being stamped on? Given that he is being scrutinised by 3 officials, a crowd and CAMERAS So glad we had this talk

Where was the lash out on the video he moves his head towards him but it's not a headbutt. The linesman has said there was an elbow which there is no evidence of and JB has stated there was no elbow. And the sneaky stamp is clear to see so why is Conlon not being suspended for at least a game.

As for Finley, how does he know there was no elbow? Because Finley said so? Barton was 80 yards away, the Linesman how many? Is there some other video evidence we havent seen? This is a screen grab that doesnt look like an elbow, but could be something else

ignore the linesman sprout I was behind him and he got most things wrong for 90 minutes. He looked fit enough but was never in line for the offside decisions

what like our bloke throwing himself to the floor to try and win a penalty. We do as much as other teams Had it been the other way round and Conlon was the one who flipped out everyone on here would be praising Finley. Not sure they would, it would probably be the opposite and fans blaming Barton for turning us into a team of cheats. Although Finley's got to learn fast to ignore it or over react as we can't afford for him to come back for another couple of games before being sent off yet again for retaliation.
