Well I’m sure everyone will join me in wishing those affected a swift and speedy recovery.
Sadly I’d imagine Scunthorpe will be the first of a few cancellations to our matches over this winter period.

Surely all matches ought to be cancelled until after new year. This is unsustainable. Would just be like having a winter break like in Germany and Spain etc

Oh no, this is really sad. Best wishes to all those players affected, I hope you all make a speedy recovery.
And to everyone, stay safe and healthy in these troubled times.

Hope they all have mild symptoms and a swift recovery. Cases in double figures by matchday I reckon.

With all the injuries in the squad it might be a blessing in disguise if we don’t play again until the new year?
Suprised the game hasn’t been officially called off yet.

If there is even a shred of doubt I hope they call it before the day is over. Leaving it until after everyone makes their way north tomorrow, would be completely unacceptable.

Lets hope they are all jabbed as papers are saying a quarter of EFL players have not even had their first jab yet.

I was interested in what Joey "it's just the flu" Barton had to say on the matter. He hasn't dropped any clangers on this occasion though!

How can the powers expect ANY football team to play a game with 11 injuries and 6 cases of covid ( others pending) ?. Most of the prem games are now off and loads in other divisions.
Under the Gov own guidelines and potential contact the 6 have made with others the game must be called off . Otherwise we are in danagers of taking less than 12 players .
My maths ain't brilliant but say a squad of 30 including youth.
11 injuries / suspensions 6 confirmed covid cases ?. Awaiting results
It is very likely we will have NO subs . Incredible if this game happens.

I was interested in what Joey "it's just the flu" Barton had to say on the matter. He hasn't dropped any clangers on this occasion though! "I don't want to name names but we've had about six to seven and we still have PCR results pending and we're really down to the bare bones," Barton said on Friday morning, keen to emphasise he wants the game to go ahead.
"I think we have 10-11 injuries at the minute, a couple of suspensions, it's certainly going to stretch us if the game does go ahead. "The medical guys are in liaison with the league and we should have some more movement on that in the next hour or so.
"We'll continue as normal with the group we've got, and the lads we've got, prepare as if the game is going ahead but I'll be very, very surprised if it does."
"We're human beings, it's spread among the human population. Just because we have shin pads on and a footy kit, the virus isn't going to leave us out because we've got fixtures to play on a Saturday," Barton added.
"It's just the world we're living in at this moment in time. Our lads have been superb on the vaccination front.
"We've had a player who's double vaccinated because of a pre-existing condition, I think he's even had the booster, and he's gone down with a positive test and that then takes out the two players he's in close contact with in his household.
"I'm not sure what anyone can do. We've done our best in terms of protocols, masks, every single guideline that is out there but this virus, as it is in the rest of the population, is spreading like wildfire.
"I'm more concerned people coming into the stadium and passing it onto one another. The last thing we want to do is cause further problems."www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/joey-barton-reveals-bristol-rovers-6365068

Assume if it's off tomorrow, that's Boxing Day gone as well? I think it would be yes Yes as its a 10 day isolation period. Also most fixtures will be cancelled now as time goes on. I noticed my recordings over the weekend are being cancelled.

Think we could provide the subs from the Forum.Marshy was a good keeper in his time Jeff from NZ could be flown over if he sets off now. Sadly Big Jock has gone quiet but he is more mobile than Pitman.

Assume if it's off tomorrow, that's Boxing Day gone as well? I think it would be yes Surely that's a big revenue lost for Rovers. Usually a good crowd on Boxing Day. (but selfishly I wouldn't have been able to make it this year, so good news for me )
