When I ran the line in the '89 title decider v Arsenal one minute to go and he was telling all the Liverpool players 'One minute to go'.A fanzine was named after that but Michael Thomas scored with the last kick of the game thus Arsenal and not Liverpool won it.

I remember when Steve McMahon became player/manager of Swindon Town and said "I don't mind if we pick up a few yellow cards. I'm looking for a team that fights" and then got sent off on his debut...

I remember when Steve McMahon became player/manager of Swindon Town and said "I don't mind if we pick up a few yellow cards. I'm looking for a team that fights" and then got sent off on his debut... Was that when their Stadium Announcer said something like "I've seen some crap refereeing decisions, but...." and got in a spot of bother. Easy to remember all this when back in those days Swindon dominated the local sports news.. as they had been in the top flight not long before
