Linesy's talent with Sinclair's endeavour ideally. Nothing wrong with a bit of both

As much as I like Chris Lines, he was tainted in the Dave Penney stitch up and many would not take kindly a return of this local lad.

Love Sinclair to have Lines goal potential - in a perfect world I would have Lines back as well

Lines is never going to return to playing for Rovers whilst NH is in control, so if you mean in the past thensurely the fact Lines has played in the Championship but Sinclair never outside the Conference speaks for itself? If we do go up this season, or next, it will be interesting to see how Sinclair performs at an higher level.
Lines ability + Sinclair commitment = Roy Keane??

Why does everyone slander Sinclairs actual footballing ability?
I very rarely see him mess up a pass, long or short range. His shooting is a bit sh** to be honest but last night he actually buried it quite nicely. Aside from shooting I fail to see what he lacks. Pretty good running with the ball too

Sinclairs a really good footballer hardly ever gives it away I think because he's full of guts and determination people assume that's all he's got and forget that he's tidy on the ball. Chris lines at his best alongside Sinclair would water all over any other midfield two in this league but I prefer Sinclair.

Oooh, a bitter retrospective about an ex player. Very novel.

Sinclair sh*ts all over Lines. As proven by their respective careers thus far. Clearly.

obviously lines is an established league player and stuart is a very good conference player so its difficult to compare them directly, myself and other rovers fans love stu for his all action style and commitment as well as his neat passing. chris is a decent league player who perhaps hasnt lived up to his potential. off topic i knew chris"s dad terry who was a very tidy midfield player in local football

I played with Terry at POB. I was a young lad breaking in to the first team and he made me feel like I belonged and passed on his knowledge. Won't forget that. A good guy.

Stuart is everything you want from a Rovers player. A player who would be quiet happy to play for nothing if it meant we won. You get more than 5mins a game from him and he doesn't go walkabout when the going gets tough.
Put simply, if we had players like Stuart when we had Lines we wouldn't be in the Conference now.

Sinclair's already a legend and I can't help but feel he has so much more to give. We need to offer him more though or we might lose him. Just have to put a clause in his new contract if he shaves he cut from the team. :holdsheadinshamebadpun:

If you add Lines ability and Sinclairs commitment together surely you end up somewhere around... Ian Holloway!
Hence the reason he ended up playing premiership football.
To answer the question though at the moment Stuart is what we need. To progress higher we will probably need more Lines types.

I used to spend my Saturday afternoons down the PBA as a kid as i lived across the road, grew up watching that team. Now i play skittles with Phil Pratt who was a great goalkeeper. Terry Lines was as you say a really good player at local level. Gloucester County league was a decent standard then, not like it is now. i remember thinking when i played for NSC against PBA after they got relegated about the amount of times i used to watch them play, and then here i was playing against them.
