Was wondering where to go before game for a beer, going by car, I think Cricket club has been mentioned but I heard it was closed to us last time we played them ?? It says on Football grounds guide there is a Pub called The Merlin close to the ground supposed to be friendly with mixture of fans, anyone on here used it or any other suggestions ?? UTG.

Have a celebration drink in Bristol after the game. Arkellls is terrible beer, and it’s everywhere.

Well have a go at Junction 16 westbound, it’s the highlight of a depressing place, I had the misfortune of working there for far too many years.

Me personally I'd rather have breakfast/beer in Bristol or bath and get into Swindon about twelve, more choice of pubs and no police attention or Swindon chavs.

Wont bother with the pub it will be a nightmare especially with it being a 1pm kick off and covid passes having to be shown. Can see alot of people missing kick off if they want a few pints and turn up 5/10 minutes before kick off

We have been allocated 2 pubs for away fans only. The Great Western opposite the railway station and Cheekies on Fleet Street. There is also an away bar at the ground that will be open.

Only in football can the boys in blue decide which public house you are allowed to enter, how long you can stay and where you must go when you leave.
All because a few idiots got very naughty many years ago and other idiots have copied them for decades.

Unsurprisingly both places look right shitholes. GW has limited food choices and Cheekies is a nightclub! No doubt it'll take an hour to get a beer. Wonder how easy it will be to escape the conga that the police will form for us.
