Im a bit confused about these supporter/fan rules... In the early 2000's I went to both home and away games (not all) and also arranged coach travel for the blokes i worked with when we went to Wembley against Shrewsbury. Since then I moved away only recently returning where I've attended four games at home this season. Am I supporter or fan? A person with occasional interest There a 3rd category?

By this definition, I'm afraid you have been officially relegated to "fan" status. I hope this helps x If you don’t attend games you are not a supporter you are a fan , by attending games you are supporting the club both financially and vocally. ( this is not a dig just a comment in general )

If you buy club merchandise are you then a supporter?

Still refusing to go if the ground moves a few miles? Logistics. Not through choice. What's your excuse? Well it definitely is a choice. You could go, but you will choose not to because it is more inconvenient for you to go to the FM. We all make choices and you will make yours. I wouldn't say that makes you less worthy than others who will attend every game, or more worthy than others who choose not to attend just because they don't approve of the man in charge. It's all about choices.

Yes if you purchase merchandise you are supporting the club , hope that clears it up for you I shall sleep soundly tonight knowing that you would classify Hugo the Elder as a “supporter” rather than just a “fan” in this (probably entirely hypothetical) scenario 🙃

Nice to make an assumption without knowing why I’m not going. Cheers 👍🏻 It was a joke.

I think there IS or at least should be a hierarchy of worthyness.
It’s not just about money, when we played Oxford I actually made eye contact with Matt Taylor and gave him a double middle finger and he kind of smirked and walked off - OUCH! He won’t be forgetting that assault on his ego in a hurry,
This should put me a few rungs above all of you feckless dregs in the rat race of brownie points.

Over 7k on Saturday, 3k travelling to Swindon, if we can get a run going, we’re gonna be getting 9k at home. Why not stop wasting negative energy, on whether you like someone or not, and put that energy into supporting your team! UTG Yes I think you’re right. Our form Over the last 8 games is W 4 D2 L2 I think that’s probably the best run of form we’ve had since Coughlan left. Keep that going and we’ll finish comfortable top half improve on it slightly and we’ll make the play offs. Get behind them. UTG

I remember my Dad telling me that rovers had one tactic which was “Aim for Tait’s head”

At this moment in time, the results on the pitch during JB's time here have not been good enough. We are 16th in League Two when promotion was promised.
Yes, there are positive signs and we all hope for a dramatic rise up the table culminating in promotion this season (that would be awesome!). The only thing driving that is hope. There is no evidence it will happen.

My opinion hasn't changed, i'm a JB supporter and I still am. I'll agree he hasn't got everything right but the things he's been criticised for I think are not entirely his own fault.
Against 1. Court cases - we've had one throw out, IMO it should never have got to court if that's the way the CPS operate then i'm shocked. Don't really want to speculate on the upcoming case but if its true obviously he has to go.
2. Relegation - we went down last season on a whimper with a squad built by an awful manager (BG). JB should have motivated more and it did feel we gave up.
3. Patchy form - this season the form has been patchy, this is down to many factors IMO, although suspensions, injuries and COVID have played a massive part. Could he manage these better? - perhaps, he does seem to ease players back in after injuries but we do pick up more injuries that I would expect. Suspensions are about managing players but evidently some of these can be put down to very poor referees.
4. Promised Promotion - this is still a possibility but he shouldn't have promised this, it was either misplaced judgement or arrogance (probably both) but at the same time not sure what he should have said?
5. Calling out past managers - not the best thing to do, but i'm not sure he was entirely wrong on this, afterall he didn't have any transfer windows before the relegation and now 40 transfers later he cant hide behind that.
For
1. the Signings we have made, although the jury is out on a lot of them I actually feel this team is better than last year and we have camaraderie and a bit of spirit that has been missing for a long time
2. Style of play - much better, despite question marks over the formation and lack of striker we do score goals (throughout the team). its not Garnerball and its an improvement on GC.
3. Straight talking - for me although there are some issues with this, i actually like the fact we get communication that's not "standard" I remember some pressers where BG looked like he was going to cry. JB also has some strange ideologies which give a insight into professional football that ive not seen before. We need to remember JB actually played for England so and knows and loves the game.
4. We can give anyone a game - always good to feel we can get a result, maybe its my misplaced judgement but we are becoming a hard team to play against. We've matched those at the top and with the exception of a few earlier results I think teams dont fancy playing us.
5. January business done early - last January difference thats all.
Other
1. Gates - they havent really dropped, there are a few that are staying away but the average attendance is pretty much the same, we have amazing away support . attendances are unlikely to increase dramatically until we sort out the Mem.
2. Man management - bit of an odd one, but he called out Thomas, which didnt go down well and then Thomas said he was right to do so! Obviously JB knows his players and has made some brave moves. 3. Getting time people forget that BG took over the season before when we were in the playoffs and then we dropped out, im happy to give JB more time, its been a massive rebuild and the feeling is that its coming together for us. to be honest what other options do we have?

Odd timing to be discussing this.
Form is relatively good at the moment, better than we’ve had since GC that’s for sure.
One of the court cases is behind him. If he is found not guilty then that’s not a reason to get rid of him.
As others have said - he was given an absolute hospital pass by Widdrington, Garner and Tisdale.
I’m only judging him on this season and whilst it didn’t start well (to the point for about a month I wanted him gone) we are starting to play well and the results are starting to come too.
I’m excited to see how the season ends.
Starting with tomorrow at Swindon against Ben Ten.
