My own opinion is the GC knew we would not stay in that position and also was getting a fair amount of abuse from behind the dugout. I just do not buy the being closer to family part. He also was probably aware that BG had been watching games and all of this led to that bizarre statement, post victory at Ipswich. Just my opinion though and could be totally wrong Personally I thought you could see Coughlan was homesick and I thought he would go, as soon as he got the chance. He spoke about missing his family a lot during post match interviews. It was no surprise, that he moved closer to them. A while before he left, when we had a break, he said how he had gone home and that it was great to finally spend some time with them and sounded upset, speaking about it. I thought at the time, he won't be here much longer. Yet look where he went after all of this. At the end of the day it’s done and all have moved on. I am , for the first time in decades, really believing we can make a push for the play offs

Not sure I quite get the vitriolic language contained in 19 pages around Garner. He took a job with us, was told to play a style many of us wanted to see after the dire and tedious but perhaps successful performances under (GC). He came in and generated lots of excitement around the players we were signing but disappointingly it didn"t work out. Did we have any decent players come through. I would say Nicholson, Grant and McCormick were all good signings, Hanlon possibly also. Truth was that he didn't get us relegated. He was sacked when we are outside of the relegation places, Joey could equally have been sacked after a 4-1 loss to Exeter. I recall Garner spoke with dignity and well of the club on his departure. He had a dressing down from Joey but I dont recall he entered into that spat. He moved to Swindon and did an exceptional job with the hand dealt there. I guess for me I have no bad feelings towards him, it didn't work out but we are now in a much better place as he us having to an extent rebuilt his reputation as a coach. We have had much worse managers and far less decent individuals in charge of the club. Time to move on! I’ve got nothing against him apart from I found him unbelievably boring when he spoke . He had the charisma of a wet lettuce. That is f ucking harsh on lettuces
